Day 2 of the Big Ten-ACC Challenge; about the same as Day 1, which wasn’t great. But two of the three top 25 upsets were won by B10 teams.

B1G

#1 Notre Dame 105 #14 Iowa 71 – surprisingly, not entirely over by the half
#5 Louisville 85 Nebraska 68 – Durr had 25 for the Cardinals
#7 Maryland 67 Georgia Tech 54 – Yellowjackets made it close in the 3rd, but Terps pulled away
#20 Minnesota 72 #12 Syracuse 68 – biggest upset of the challenge
#13 NC State 66 Michigan 55 – Wolverines led at the half, but couldn’t hold on
Purdue 74 #21 Miami 63 – not entirely sure I’d say this is much of an upset
Florida State 87 Penn State 58 – Seminoles led by Gillespie with 27, 5, and 1
Ohio State 76 North Carolina 69 – Buckeyes came back from 3-point halftime deficit
Pittsburgh 52 Northwestern 49 – 1stloss for Wildcats

Other RU opponents

East Tennessee State 95 Appalachian State 64 – 1stwin for Lady Buccaneers
Kansas 68 LSU 61 – Jayhawks are 6-0

Other ranked teams

Lamar 74 #17 Texas A&M 68 – this is pretty shocking; 3 of Lamar’s 4 previous wins were over non-D-I teams

Also

Xavier 65 Bowling Green 65 – Musketeers now 5-1, albeit against so-so competition
North Florida 82 Charleston Southern 76 OT – Bello led the Lady Ospreys with 20 and 18
St. Joseph’s 68 Columbia 61 OT – Hawks came back from down 5 at the half

Today:

B1G: 4-5
Other RU opponents: 1-1

Year to date:

B1G: 63-24
Other RU opponents: 43-28

There have been no palindromic scores in 48 games completed so far today. There have been 9 palindromic scores in 1,095 games so far this year. It’s been six sad days since the last palindromic score.

If anyone wants to know, and doesn't - Texas A&M suspended their best player for the game because she "wasn't where she was supposed to be when she was supposed to be" - I think in plain English that means she cut a class, although I suppose it could have been curfew or something else.

Ohio State surprises me with all the talent they lost. I believe they brought in 8 grad transfers. Is UNC that bad??

Sadly, the mistake was in the score, not missing the palindrome. It was 85-68. I'm fixing it now.
