“It’s pretty similar,” Rescigno said. “I was always in the gun. I’m used to it. I ran the ball a lot in high school, maybe like 10 or 12 times a game. So it’s definitely something I’m used to. We huddled every once in a while. It wasn’t super-fast like it is now, but for the most part (similar).”

“I learned a lot my last two years with the past coaches, whether that’s (reading) defenses or stuff like that,” Rescigno said. “You definitely take pieces from here and pieces from there and you apply it towards what we are doing now. It definitely helps.”

More details in the story. Go Gio!

He definitely fits the mold but he needs to fix some throwing issues. Apparently, he's worked hard on it and improved greatly but still work to be done.

Less of a "dark-horse," IMHO, than many here may think.
If he can work out the throwing mechanics, he can get the job. Nothing will surprise me. I can see it going three ways, in no particular order. Gio wins the job outright; Rettig/Gio in a dual role; or Laviano/Gio in a dual role. I don't see Laviano or Rettig winning outright, and I don't see them in a dual role. Just my prognostication, which ain't worth anything!

I am not an advocate of multiple QB's in most situations, however, if these three guys all have different skill sets and none of them become an outright winner of the role I could see a scenario where Ash and co try to exploit weaknesses with the QB that gives them the best shot that week. Don't misunderstand me, I am not suggesting a different QB for each game I am thinking more along the lines of some in game adjustments based on defensive weaknesses.

The problem with a 2 QB system is, while it plays to each players strengths, it also tips your hand a bit. When other teams watch the tapes, they can learn which plays we are more likely to run when QB X or QB Y are in the game.

Agreed a two QB system does tip your hand especially if the QB's are very different. Ie: one runs and can't throw and the other is just the opposite but these guys can still run the whole system but with slightly different skill sets. It just provides options allowing Ash to exploit a defensive weakness within a game plan. I do agree with you that a 2 QB system, where you keep changing the starter or switch QB's from series to series is something I would not like.
