Good Paul Mulcahy piece from OTB

You're wrong. You could Google it first before posting a "correction" that is false. Took two seconds. Also found this Rivals thread discussing it

Not on the 2019 ESPN top 100 list, nor does his ESPN recruit page have the Top 100 logo.

And that's not to say that he isn't worthy of being a Top 100 player... ESPN has given him an 83 rating, and there are 11 guys on the Top 100 list that also have an 83 rating. And he made a single brief appearance at #99 on the list in April.

But he's not on the current list, and so is not currently considered an ESPN Top 100 player. If you're going to take "two seconds" to Google, you should go to the source.

Apologies to offend anyone. There is going to be competition (a great thing) for minutes at the guard position. We seem to have many capable players.

This is one of the most exciting things about next year - there are zero freebie minutes at the guard spots. Everyone will be fighting hard to see the floor. We will almost certainly have guys we want to see the floor who can't because of the guys in front of them.

Of course, that also means fans will want Coach to immediately give guys the hook if they aren't playing well, and will likely gripe when he gives a player more rope than they'd like.

What a difference a couple of years makes. Two years ago, we were literally counting on a walkon (Dadika) and an unrecruited JUCO who was clearly outmatched at this level (the French kid) to give us critical minutes at guard.

Now we can’t find enough minutes at guard, with Baker, Young, McConnell, Mathis, Kiss, and now Mulcahy vying for time.

Maybe this is what it's supposed to be like at higher caliber programs? It always seemed like we'd play ranked teams that constantly threw bodies at us off the bench with little drop off in play.

In that light, and I'm a huge Pike fan, but it'll be interesting to see if he can be the Maestro to orchestrate balancing what is needed from players and when. Maybe that's what really separates Good coaching from Great coaching?

In what world is saying Paul can average 5 assists a game at some point in his career reckless? Give me a break. Pike and others have said things like this is the best passer I've seen in HS bball in 20 years but it's RECKLESS to say he might get 5 assists a game?? If this is solely based on the whole "he's a freshman who hasn't played a minute" tired argument then just don't read any articles on players until they step foot on the court.

Not only is it not reckless, it's more likely to happen than not

This guy has a bone to pick with Gill or Sina. He always writes Sh!t like this.

Interesting piece about Paul and the potential for him to have a positive influence on our team's offense. The embedded video from a game last year was insightful, too.

I really like Mulcahy's game, but I suspect the Big 10 will be a big adjustment for him, so I do not expect great things from him this year. As for the video, his 18 assists also owed much to the fact that Gil was a very unselfish team who made several passes to find the open shooter. As a team they also had several outstanding 3-point shooters that allowed them to spread the floor.
Also, his shot needs work in terms of mechanics. He release seems very low and does not leverage his height. From a shooting standpoint it would be like guarding someone 6’3” rather than 6’6”. Hopefully staff is working with him on this.

That is what the video seems to show. Battle from Trenton Catholic looks like he has potential.

Yup! Pike and our coaching staff are 100% to blame for this talent infusion.
