And so what? Look, no one with half a brain believes RU will not be a member in the future. I can't even believe I have to say it. Do you think for a second any institution is going to give up even a $1 of the new TV contract? Do you think any B1G staff wants to abandon the recruiting heaven that's the mid atlantic region?

Am I the only one not surprised by these articles? All they were waiting for is results like we've seen.

These olde tyme B1G fans hate change. They acted the same with PSU. If you ask a PSU fan they'll say they still do. Nebraska is one of their "own". RU played into their hands by crapping their pants on the field. Winning would change perception in a nanosecond but be prepared to be hated for at least a generation.

Comments to story are just as bad as the article. Fans should be careful about being overly sanctimonious douches. What does it say if we should beat them on Saturday?
They're trying to say we're uncouth and abrasive. I guess those long winters combined with minimal day light can generate very rude comments. Sometimes people think just because they're educated they can make stupid comments. Here are a few topics to bring up when you're in Minnesota, alcoholism and suicide. They have the 5th highest alcoholism rate in the country and compliment that statistic with a suicide rate that doubles NJ or NY with a fraction of the population. Yep, Minnesota sounds like a fun place to live.

I say let them. They could write all the articles they want, we're not going anywhere and they cant hurt us in the long run. In fact i would rather it a be a mainstream outlet writing these than some random Minnesota rag. Take it for what it is.... free promo.

How many programs get this much attention for simply not playing well for half a season? All this means is that when we get good and start upsetting teams they wont shut up about us. They stomp you down so they can build u up. Just watch.

We are to the Big Ten what Tulane and SMU were to the AAC (or was it the Big East). We didn't love the dilution of the beloved Big East/AAC when they joined and similarly others don't like the dilution of the Big Ten with Rutgers and Maryland. That shouldn't come as a shock. That said, getting annihilated by Ohio State and Michigan in back-to-back weeks won't endear us to our new conference-mates either.

And yes...Reusse is the local curmudgeon.

it would be nice to see some consistency from Leidner. Unfortunately, the Gophers must not believe in employing an excellent QB coach on their staff as it has been a long time since they had a QB who was reasonably successful at passing the ball.

Leidner is inconsistent. He has had his moments. The biggest challenge is the receivers getting open. Most of our receivers lack that ability. Luckily or TE is back(Lingen).

Not sure how much the coaches will let Rhoda throw. I am saying this, because I know our coaches would rather run left, run right, RUTM, Rinse, lather, repeat...

How is Rutgers pass offense? I know you are starting a new QB, but how is your receiving corp?

To use your words:
"The biggest challenge is the receivers getting open. Most of our receivers lack that ability." [minus the TE thing, which we don't seem to have, although he caught our lone TD pass last week against powerhouse Illinois).

Sorry, but the Rhoda thing cracks me up. I picture a black haired woman with a bandana dropping back to pass the ball.

Maybe Leidner will get to start? According to some of your fans, they prefer Rhoda?

The only thing worth reading from him is small town baseball.
