Uhhhh way more than thatInsurance if Eugene continues to have knee problems?
Wasn’t he supposed to make some extra trips and visits?
Way to close this out Pikiell.
Ive watched 5-6 full game tapes on him, heres what were getting. Can someone provide a brief scouting report on him? What are we getting here, how many minutes should we expect him to play, etc?
- A guy who can play the 3-5
- lethal shooter from 3 when left open. If hes left open from 3, he probably knocks them down at 50-60%
- not great off the dribble but can go off the dribble
- GREAT rebounder
- Can defend the 3-5
- he will be great here as he was asked to carry that load and do a ton at stony brook, here he will be asked to just be a guy on the team.
- imo he’ll average 12 pts and 6 rebs next year if eugene stays healthy.
This was the missing piece to us being tourney bound. I truly now think it’d be disappointing if we didnt dance next year

Whether Eugene is healthy or not, hes way more than insurance. Hes a straight up legit impact player that teams will have to prep forInsurance if Eugene continues to have knee problems?
Welcome, great pickup. Winning is in the equation.
Now to be greedy, wonder what Pike can/will do will the last scholarship
that full game tape is on youtube, I watched it. Good tape to watch, you'll see him get really hot for a stretch, he makes a couple boneheaded turnovers but you also see him kind of push around a 7'0 260 guy in the post. He's legit manPosted this in the south carolina thread but he also had 24 pts, 11 rebounds and 5 threes against the gamecocks this year when they played them. stony brook actually beat them so these weren't garbage points
Hope he doesn’t laugh like KwahiSeems like a real nice pick-up. Looks like Kwahi Leonard from his Junior highlights, lol.
Day 1 starterCan someone provide a brief scouting report on him? What are we getting here, how many minutes should we expect him to play, etc?
Well here's the thing. He can guard the 5 in spot duty. He's not gonna guard it the whole game. I highly encourage you to go watch their game @ south carolina on youtube. He guards a 7'0 260 guy for stretches at a time and does a fine job@kyk1827 and others- Is he tall/big enough to start at the 5 for us? A 5 in the B1G (not Stony Brook's league)? Or do you see him more as a 4 in this league? And if he's the starting 4, does that make EO the starting 3 and Myles the starting 5?
Or am I getting too hung up on position labels, and bottom line is he can start alongside EO and Myles?
The most important thing he adds is the ability to play "small ball" or the more traditional 1-5 position basketball. He can guard a three against a team like Purdue with a bunch of trees or the 5 against smaller lineups. I just can't wait to see how teams attempt to guard a Baker-Young-Harper-Yeboah-Omoruyi lineup. Next year should be a lot of fun.@kyk1827 and others- Is he tall/big enough to start at the 5 for us? A 5 in the B1G (not Stony Brook's league)? Or do you see him more as a 4 in this league? Is Yeboah primarily a three who might also see time at 2 and 4?
Don't get hung up on height. Remember Rashod Kent?I like what I see on tape, but there should be at least some concern about his small size (6'-6") in playing the 4 in the Big 10.
Based both on ability and our glut at guard?don't see the 2, more the 4

Similar game to pre-injury Eugene from last year. Willing three-point shooter, though only average percentage-wise. But he also took a ton of attempts at SB, I don't expect as many here so hopefully the percentage goes up with better-quality looks overall.
Has an old-man game in the post, sort of a mix of Omoruyi and Freeman with jump stops, hesitations, and shoulder shakes. Actually had a knee injury last year right around the same time as Omoruyi and wore a brace for a bit.
Oh, and he's a career 79% free throw shooter.
It was Kotsar. Excuse me only 6'11 264Please tell me it's not the 7 foot 260 pound SC kid who didn't score a single point last season in 5 games and only averaged 1 point per game the season before.

If Mamadou doesn’t show improvement, I think Shaq will slide over for some minutes at the 5.Great news, still need a backup center
I don't think Doucure fits the bill
