In Ash's post practice comments he was asked if Janarion would be part of Senior night vs PSU and he stated that Grant would not be honored on Sat so I am assuming from those remarks that Janarion will seek the medical red shirt and he may have some indication it will be approved. One would think that if there were any chance he would not be back he would want to be part of the celebration honoring the seniors. Your thoughts! Or am I wishful thinking here.

Although a good sign, per previous reports (1 day or 2 days ago), Grant has not yet decided and will receive additional information prior to making a final decision

What it means is that JG decided to NOT be announced as a "senior" which is a very positive sign IMHO. As of Monday JG wasn't sure if he would be announced or not.

The biggest concern is if he even qualifies for the Medical RS. If not then it doesn't matter. We need playmakers and the ones we have are leaving or close to it.

We've been through this, he does, it just needs to be rewarded and that doesn't happen until after the season.

Has the NCAA or school announced that it meets the requirements? Or is that coming from this board?

The NCAA will not announce anything until AFTER the season (as I posted above). The school, however, submitted his application for approval because he DOES meet the requirements.

NCAA has no say. Up to the B1G and B1G publicly stated people who get hurt in game 4 are eligible.

In a previous press conference, Coach said whether or not he was introduced, Grant was going to wait until December to receive NFL feedback before he made a decision.

If he receives feedback that even a very late round is probable he has to go.
His injury was on a freak tackle. He can't afford a second injury in back to back seasons

His body of work begs one more year....Longa is a great example.
??? Grant was one of the best returners in the country. Steve Longa while a great Rutgers player was never considered one of the best in the country. Grant will make the NFL because of his kick returning skills.

His injury put him out of the current year dialogue. No post season bowl. His size is also an issue. Long (a) shot for late round. He can reestablish his crendentials and show he can contribute more than just as a special teams guy with a full year of offensive production.

Grant and Mitchell together would be awesome.

And Melton

...and Harris

With the kickoff rule changes the value of that position has gone way down. Teams want receivers that can return kicks, not kick returners that can also catch. Grant has not been productive enough as a WR IMO.

Grant will make the call based on what he feels best for his immediate family.Another reason why Div 1 main sport athletes should get paid...
