For those who did not hear it, Jordan said Greg Lewis will be limited to about 20 minutes per game for the rest of the year with his bad knee. I'm curious if he was hurt all year, he has not shown much lift and that has impacted his rebounding.

We have to be cautious with injuries, because we are assuming the player can return to form or their potential, but sometimes it never happens. We may be looking at a similar situation with Freeman next year or the next two years if he decides to stick around beyond 2016-17....if Freeman graduates on time, he would still have one year of eligibility left and that could be here at RU or he could be an immediate transfer/5th year candidate beyond RU.

Lewis is a tough kid and although things didn't necessarily show itself under Eddie, he definitely improved a lot last year, where more production this year wasn't an unreasonable belief. He'll at least go down for me as a player that didn't whine or look for an excuse when plenty of others could have done so. Perhaps the kids on the mend that are on the roster, have a chance to see what playing for the team is about, despite the results being one-sided most nights.

That's correct, foot injuries for big men are not good. I hope Doorson and Diallo return okay. Regarding Lewis, I'm curious if he had a knee issue all year. Even early in the season he did not look right. He seems to lack any type of lift around the basket. There were games where he played very few minutes, a couple were due to foul trouble but others are unexplainable, games as low as 9 minutes without foul trouble. I remember thinking.....why is Lewis not in the game.

Of course Lewis had a knee injury all year. Just look at how he walks when he's out of the game. I can't believe that so many people are unaware of this. The guy cannot practice. The one healthy player over 6'4" does not even have anyone to practice against.

I did not notice, only been to 1 live game. I just wondered why he did not look right and did not play for long stretches.

Are you telling me that Lewis has been injured all year with a bad knee but there were still " fans" hammering him for his performance, inability to finish around the rim and his effort in rebounding?

That would be lower than low....it's shameful and dishonest.

Why is Eddie announcing this now? Looking to build sympathy for himself and why they are so bad? Just asking.

From the post game interview....He did not volunteer the information, a reporter asked for an update on Lewis and Jordan responded that he would be "limited to 20 minutes per game for the rest of the season". Nothing else was volunteered or discussed....but, nice try....lol

Coaches can't really comment on the extent of injuries. Either a player is playing or not, limited in minutes or not. Seems like Lewis was likely limited in some capacity but he was muscling through - which is a testament to his commitment to helping the team. Hopefully the limited minutes help him recover a bit.

I might impose a minutes limitation on myself. Skipping the Iowa game might be a good thing for me. I do respect Iowa and want to see Jok and Udoff (sp?) in person though.
