Griffiths HS team to play at Jersey Mikes

Which “Jersey Mike’s” location? Ohhh you mean “THE RAC,” gotcha!

A Derek, Dylan, and Gavin backcourt would be sick. No ceiling for that group.

What is the level of competition in the NEPSAC-B?
It's very good. It's not South Kent or Northfield Mount Hermon on a day-to-day basis but it's a very, very strong league full of D1 players. That entire NEPSAC league is full of D1 guys at all their levels.

Good to hear. I have a friend saying he watched Griffiths highlights and it looks like the competition is very weak and he's not impressed at all. He looks too skinny and weak bla bla

TBH, he does look skinny but know who else looks skinny? The freshman guard on Kansas Gradey Dick who was also a top 30 recruit. Guy is a twig but as long as you can compete that is all that matters

Reminder that this guy was a second team All American and second overall draft pick last year

He's also a 7-1 unicorn who could shoot threes.

The Gradey Dick comparison is a good one -- that's what I'm hoping we get from Griffiths.

It's funny, I've seen highlights of kids who supposedly play at very high levels where they get a steal by the baseline and beat everyone down the court for a layup.

NEPSAC A/B (A and B are pretty much the same) is about as good as HS competition gets while also letting kids go to school and be kids. IOW - they don't play 50 games or fly to a bunch of games and they have to be students. Lots of well-coached teams and along with plenty of D1 players, a ton of D3 players and post-grads.

For anyone concerned with how he does against top competition Griffiths was a top player in the EYBL and practiced and worked out with Taylor Bowen and Matas Buzelis with Expressions.

Kid isn't even 19 yet. Give him some time to fill out. But this is basketball. Quickness and strength beats size. Training should enhance that, even if he doesn't turn into the hulk.

If he can shoot, run the floor and finish like this in college, he's going to be exceptional. He's the best recruit I've seen commit to Rutgers out of high school.

Good highlights in the link
All I can say is WOW. This kid is quite a player.

And the thing is, he’s not just a spot up “shooter” like some might be thinking. He can score at all three levels, and plays defense, rebounds, runs the floor, has great court vision and passing ability. He’s also got Eye of the Tiger that “great” players need to have.

I’m salivating at the thought of Gavin paired with Dylan Harper. Oh. My.
