Which one is it Jim and John?

Jim: “I’m all for it, all for it,” he said. “I mean, it’s what’s best for the youngsters and the more opportunity for them, the better. So that’s my feeling on it.

“It’s really not competition at all. As coaches, there’s no competing going on. It’s just coaching the players. So whatever’s best for (the campers) I think is great.”

John: “The fact that there’s more kids here … I guess we won,” John Harbaugh said, going off the pre-camp attendance estimates. “I look at it that way. There’s your quote right there.”

Oh, and the Rutgers camp had more kids. Rutgers estimated close to 1,000 campers after allowing walk-up registration.

I'm loving how obsessed Michigan has become with New Jersey when they are not even the best college football team in the state of Michigan ON THE FIELD at the current moment. Before UM fans counter this by saying "we will beat Sparty this year" why don't you actually do it before you start yapping because they have owned you since Dantonio took over. Furthermore, Harbaugh is legitimizing RU by bringing our program national attention in the off-season we wouldn't likely get otherwise so thanks for stopping by.

Legitimizing and galvanizing the fan base around the state. We'll never keep every kid in NJ but the the stronger the perception is that the right thing to do is rep your own state and not go play for someone else's state, the more kids will stay home. It's intense in teh big football states and something like this really helps build that intensity in NJ.

Just to point out, your contradictory quotes were by two different people. Jim (the coach of UM) stated how it was ford the kids and not a competition. John (Jim's brother and HC of the Ravens) was the one who said it looks like they won.

One of my employees brought her son up to the RU camp last night. She told me this AM that the registration was originally supposed to start at 4pm but, because so many kids signed up they moved it to 3:15. She also said there was a line of kids hoping to get in as walk ups.

"easily 800-1000 kids were there" was her exact quote. A few hundred on each of the 5 fields.

I was at FDU with my son. The final huddle up at the end when Coach Rhule and Coach Billick spoke had to be close to 1,000 kids. There were so many kids it was actually tough to get reps (my only slight criticism.) All in all it was a great night.

Thanks for pointing that out. The layout in the story was a bunch of random quotes, and I missed it. Fixed my original post.

Wearing a Yankee shirt ? Maybe Michigan can play a home game at Yankee stadium.....
It's a Derek Jeter shirt, because, you know, Derek Jeter went to Michigan. Wait a minute, no he did not, so why is he wearing a Derek Jeter shirt? Do football players care about Derek Jeter? A David Harris Jets Jersey would have made more sense?

He's like every other outsider that comes to the Tri-State...he thinks wearing a Yankee cap or a Jeter jersey will make him fit in with the masses. Add that to the fact that he tucked it in and it's a complete swing and a miss (see what I did there?)

The mods have also stated that the Rutgers camp had way more instruction and teaching the game while the Michigan camp was more social.
