Hard to believe, but Will Wade is on a wiretap talking about an "strong-ass offer" made to a recruit

I always have to laugh at the "Court of Social Media." What exactly did he say that has everyone so bent out of shape? The bottom line is for him to do what he does, he's not going to call out coaches based on hearsay. I'm guessing he wasn't in the room when any transactions went down, so what's he gonna say? "Guilty" based on a bunch of message board inferences?

It was obvious that was the case and some people, maybe kyk, mentioned they knew it as a fact. Russ came on and basically said there was no way that happened and that we were being sore losers. I’m paraphrasing of course and when I read his posts they were patronizing.

Having said that Russ brings a little value to the board. I think it is overstated what he brings, but it is another opinion.

Well we pretty much know he paid this guy Smart based off the wiretap. And there are quotes from Hyatt saying that he liked LSU because of the class they were bringing in, including Smart. So even if he didn't pay Hyatt, his payment to Smart affected the recruitment of Hyatt.

As this tape confirms, he probably is. But, prior to this was there really any Proof ? And, just because he got top recruits does not confirm it. You still need to have concrete proof. Now, we finally have it. We did not have it 1 year ago.

Just don't believe people committing a crime like this are allowing info to leak out... especially when the offense is part of an ongoing FBI and Federal investigation.

Payments to college basketball players has been one of the worst kept secrets for years. Proving it and wanting to address it are different issues. Look how much time and effort the government has taken for sentences of 6 and 9 months? Some rationalize it with the players are indentured servants attitude. Many of them wind up being victims.

Payments come in several forms and flavors but very few vehemently deny it goes on. Not hard at all to believe that in some cases HC hands get dirty rather than just assistants and handlers.

I am surprised that LSU took prompt action. Will be interesting if this is Sean Miller type action or something more substantial.

I know well that Steve Pikiell is very honest and is a man of integrity. I really don't believe that he would ever become involved in these type of activities. It is sad that teams gain a big advantage by these type of things and most times there is no real punishment for the "elite schools" of college basketball. North Carolina received absolutely no punishment at all for over 15 years of athletes getting credit for classes that many never even attended. As a former high school teacher for 36 years this really bothers me to no end. Where is the backbone of the NCAA? We got taken to the woodshed big time for what Mike Rice did and all they got was a slap on the wrist.
I am wondering now that Massoud's brother has committed to RU for football and that Wake Forest is struggling does anyone think that his brother who many thought we would land for basketball might get released from Wake Forest and transfer to RU if Manning should be let go at Wake Forest?
