headlines say Jonathon Taylor visiting Wisconsin...

I guess we'll have to wait and see. No one on this board knows how the staff feels. Anyone who says they do, is lying.

Someone reported that the 247 site had most of their predictors having him switch to Wisconsin, this a couple of months ago..... He really seemed thrilled with the Wisconsin offer...... We can hope he is not overly blown away.

If you have been following the recruiting closely, this is our most at risk verbal, based on comments made by any recruit.... It goes with the territory, when you land a verbal clearly as talented as he, so we wait and hope that Ash can keep our flock together.

Can you elaborate on that, I'm on 247 and I've never read any such thing, there are 5 CBs for Taylor and only 1 is predicting a flip and it came from a Wisconsin insider on the day he was offered by UW.

I do not look at 247, someone came on the board here after Taylor got the offer and made it sound like the majority had switched to Wisconsin..... I never saw it myself, possibly it could have been an exaggeration.... Or some switched back to RU since.

Wisconsin is pretty attractive for RBs, especially those from NJ considering past success. I don't blame him for visiting. But RU has done very well in NJ this year which definitely helps with guys with many options. Our staff is pretty on top of things and, if he does switch, it will not be due to lack of trying from our guys.

I think you have a basic misunderstanding of what the word "commit" means in regards to college football in the 21st century.

If he switches commitments...it is what it is. We can find running backs. It's the other Jonathan (Lewis) that I'd be more concerned with, if he was rumored to be switching. Must have great QBs. That is all.

Complete exaggeration, Evan Flood (UW insider) was the only one to predict the flip ever and it was solely based on the fact that they're UW and Rutgers is easy pickings, he probably thought his uncle is still in charge at Rutgers.

Of course they are recruiting him, the kid is a stud. And of course he's a stud, he's part of the Rutgers '17 recruiting class.

Our guys will have options, it's a good thing

Students will and should explore all of their options. The last thing you want to do is regret anything. He may have a vision of it being his dream school but once he goes over there he may realized it isn't all that he thought it would be or that Rutgers will give him more playing time due to our new style.

You can't fault him for that. If he decides to de-commit then, that just opens up a spot for someone else.

Flood is not here anymore, so it is not like before when we have zero options if we lose someone.

He loves Rutgers. He is going to visit Wisconsin at the request of people close to him - to at least look at other schools. Not to say it can't happen, but I would be very surprised if JT ends up anywhere but Rutgers.

How is the # 20 New Jersey recruit Jonathan Taylor not listed on the main 2017 board of Rivals ...he's been committed for awhile yet Rivals still has it as.... "list"

Fair enough, as I said I don't look at the site..... Anyway, Taylor is a recruit I really would like to hang on to.

But if you click on "list", it shows he committed to Rutgers.

I don't think that is accurate. In fact, on several different Wisconsin sites (fans included) believe Taylor is likely staying with Rutgers. Wisconsin is likely to have a small class due to large classes the last 2 years. Bottom line, I'm willing to believe the larger group more than one person.

as I mentioned, I did not read it myself, just recalling that someone posted that predictions had changed....not a big deal at this point anyway...
a few regular readers of 247 seem to know only one person changed their prediction to Wisconsin.

Maybe he likes cheese over pork roll.
Screw that. You can buy friggin cheese anywhere. There's only one home of Taylor Ham's Pork Roll and that's right here in beautiful downtown Trenton, NJ. Hell with the crap they put in it, I don't even think it's legal to buy the stuff outside of this state. We really need to start reminding recruits of this crucial recruiting tool. The grass isn't really greener somewhere else exhibit A/Pork Roll.:)
