Last week was interesting but it's over. No big deal giving up points to the Pirate Leach. Hell he put 70+ on Nebraska when they had their entire D-Backs intact. Looking forward to Saturday to see if you can handle PSU's improving o-line. IMO this will determine the game. Good luck and keep the faith.

The PSU game is a season-defining game IMO. Win it and we are right back in the hunt for a decent season. Lose it, and the wheels just might come off and Flood will be toast.

Our D-line just run straight into the O-line. Ttfp O-line will do great.
WSU's O Line was a veteran unit that averaged over 300 pounds. We had a raw defensive backfield which limited our options. We were also missing our All-Big-Ten defensive lineman. And let's not forget that WSU put up 38 points on us last year.

I've never been more frustrated watching a defense in my entire life. I realize once Wazzu's O-line got their hands on our D-line it was over. But we didn't have to make it so easy for them. Out of 66 pass attempts which we knew were coming we succussfelly shot a gap or got around the edge maybe 5 times.

And I've never seen such great blocking by WR's too. Every WR screen was exacerbated by the fact that our CBs could not disengage their blocks.

I honestly don't know if we even did it that many times. What I didn't understand was, if we're not getting penetration with 4, and we're not going to blitz, then put in 3 space cloggers and drop another man into coverage.

The fact they had 66 pass plays and not ONE holding call tells you all you need to know about the refereeing of this game.

BINGO guys. No holds? That was ridiculous. But I completely agree about the DC..bad job. The one thing you should be able to do with a messed up DB rotation is to blitz them. They can do that or should not be on the squad. Sure, you open a WR doing that.. but you also put a clock in the QB and get knock downs on the QB. And you don't have to do it often. And the DEs were not inexperienced.. they can drop into coverage to somewhat protect from the quick pass.. and WSU was completing passes even with not sending DBs... so really.. what are you risking?
