No, no, no....I've been told over and over again that this NEVER happens! Big-time teams DON'T get blown out. Ranked teams NEVER get embarrassed on national television. EVER!

It displays how bad the ACC is, we would be in the top half and be bowl eligible this year there.
Not so sure about that.

College football(or maybe sports in general) can just be funny like this. Sometimes a team just woops up on another team, even if they are not significantly better.

I see the OSU and Michigan games as examples. sure those teams are significantly better then RU, but those were still runaway scores.

I was at the houston game last saturday agaisnt tulanw and they didnt look nearly this good

@McMurphyESPN: Tom Herman has been underdog 6 times as Ohio State OC & 4 times as Houston's coach. Herman’s teams have won all 10 games via @PregamePhD

Houston was 10-point underdogs tonight.

After all those years of playing USF it looks like a little of them rubbed off on Looaville

Houston was 8-2 going into this game. Even though Louisville was a 14 point favorite, let's not get crazy thinking this is some kind of monster upset. Houston's a good team.

It's incredible how many think the game of football is only two quarters long.

Sure Houston is a good team, but they are crushing Louisville. That is the story, not that they are merely winning.

It was 31-0 at halftime. Against the #5 team in the nation. This goes down as a bad, BAD loss, barring a minor miracle.

Louisville was favored 17. Clearly hearing they had no shot at Final 4 played with their psyche

I'd seriously fear them in a Bowl game

Yeah, that was it...lol...pretty sure you called Petrino an "offensive genius" earlier this year. What's the excuse for his awful play calling tonight? He "didn't feel like calling good plays"?

They're getting hammered. Period.

To be fair, if grading his playcalling, I'd give him an incomplete. A billion false starts and an offensive line that thinks they're the bullfighters and not the bulls kinda kills an offense.

If you don't think Petrino is one of the best offensive minds in college you're dumber than we all thought lol

10 points tonight in a must win game and you are calling him a genius?? He had won 2 conference championships. C-USA and Big East. That's it and was awful in the NFL and quit before his first season was over. Bailed and didn't address the team. And let's not forget how bad he is driving a motorcycle.

Yes, I consider him an offensive genius and that's my final answer
If you're basing his entire career on your perception of tonight so be it

No. Read my entire post. Where has he proved himself as a great P5 coach? Doesnt exist.

Excuse me don't we have the offensive guru-no sub intended-who ran and recruited those guys) Mehringer? That's still the same coach and offense, no? Shows what should happen when we have the "dogs".

BTW I heard 2nd hand that Ash said tonight that we're gonna be real happy with this incoming class.

No, Major Applewhite executes the Houston offense according to the philosophy laid out by Tom Herman. Drew Mehringer was an assistant. Not saying he won't eventually get it, but one season coordinating the JMU Dukes won't make you brilliant against B1G defenses.

Louisville has an undisciplined QB. He has natural skills but poor fundamentals. This can be taught. If successful, Louisville can run the table next year.

For anyone here to question Bobby Petrino's accomplishments on the Grid Iron leaves me speechless. Look at his roster numskulls and show me how many 5* & 4* star recruits are on his team!! He develops kids and creates offensive schemes that fit their talent levels. If he decided to come here this whole board would be doing the happy dance.

That's an understatement!

I think he and Spurrier are two of the best X & O offensive minds in years.

While guys like Briles and a few others put up huge numbers it's more the system they run and athletes to fill the roles. I think Petrino and Spurrier can run any and all offensive sets to that give defenses fits...

LOL.
Not everyone necessarily agreed, but almost all the Cardinals who spoke with reporters acknowledged a lack of focus for Thursday's game. It showed: they committed 15 penalties, allowed 11 sacks and turned the ball over three times.

Sophomore receivers Traveon Samuel and Jaylen Smith got into an altercation in the second quarter. The Cardinals were trailing 24-0 at the time, and teammates, including Jackson, stepped between the two to break it up. The loss essentially ended Louisville's hopes of making the playoff.

How RU fans can kill anything Louisville does is beyond my comprehension. I would kill to have their QB, Coach and record. 9-2 is so much sweeter than 2-9. And to think we used to battle with them on a relatively even basis!
