Houston 31 L'ville 0. Still first half

How RU fans can kill anything Louisville does is beyond my comprehension. I would kill to have their QB, Coach and record. 9-2 is so much sweeter than 2-9. And to think we used to battle with them on a relatively even basis!
I too wish we had Petrino. I was a very strong advocate of going after him when he was at Western Kentucky. By now we would be a serious threat to win a B10 conference title. Tomorrow nights PSU vs. RU game would be billed "The Thriller In Piscataway". Instead the administration and Trenton decided pursue a different route. A route that has our President and AD so concerned they had to write a letters to the fanbase requesting civility and respect for an opponent that will most likely beat us by at least 5TD's.

By the way, In 2006 we beat Louisville in a very exciting game. A game the was supposed to take us to the next level. Unfortunately, we went on to lose against Cincinnati and West Virginia. A Petrino led Louisville went on to run the table and played in the Orange Bowl, and won! That should have been Rutgers playing in the Orange Bowl.

Nothing irritates me more in sports interviews than people whining about "respect." "They didn't respect us." "Nobody respects us." All that bull after the rankings came out and they were one spot behind a team that beat them should have motivated them. Instead they don't have "focus?"

LOVED seeing that result. Loved seeing a Group of 5 team lay waste to an ACC team, even if that team is Louisville.

That loss to SMU has to be killing those guys today.

I wouldn't blame it on Petrino from an Xs and Os standpoint. Houston deserves a lot of credit in that regard. I remember reading that the Houston offence is what we were aiming at here....

In any case, Petrino's failure as coach was in the FOCUS area. All those upsets last weekend raised the hopes of Louisville's players to a point where they were already punching their ticket to the playoffs. Perfect setup for a letdown.

In September, there was a lot of talk of Houston going undefeated and this Louisville game being where they could claim a BCS bowl game.. and possibly a playoff game... and prove they should be added to the Big XII. But they had their own letdowns. Navy is tough for anyone with that chop-blocking triple-option... but they also lost to (now 5-5) SMU 38-16.

Clemson will beat Wake this weekend and go onto the ACC Championship game by virtue of a head to head tiebreaker with UofL.

Poor Kentucky (UofL's next game, in-state rivalry game).

If you don't think Petrino is one of the best offensive minds in college you're dumber than we all thought lol

No, I just think you're an idiot who doesn't know jack-shit, and we all know you're a "Wolverine fan born and raised in Michigan" who disguises himself with a moniker that means nothing.

He's a very good HC, yes, but to call him "brilliant" is absurd. Take Jackson off the roster and they're a 4-win team right now.

Good post. I was just taking a jab at a moron of a poster with the Petrino comment. That game wasn't on him at all.

Nothing you say can change my opinion that Bobby Petrino is a brilliant offense mind. As someone else mentioned...if the Star Ledger headline tomorrow was 'Bobby Petrino to RU as new OC' you'd be in front of your laptop beating off

And now you're gonna go say 'without Jackson they win 4 games'???? Ya think?

HAHAHAH......so then how many games would we have won with him? im guessing the National Championship right? Lol

Ellobo?

No excuse, but UH had quite a few key personnel out or not able to play to their potential on account of injuries when they played SMU. Mustangs also had some motivation to shove UH's face in the dirt from some pretty classless statements Coach Herman made over the summer. I'm sure they didn't forget it and the timing of the game with Houston not at full strength helped them.

Game is played now and UH rolls SMU.

Stop saying "we." You ARE NOT a Rutgers fan. You are a self-proclaimed "Wolverine, born and raised in Michigan, fan."

Yes, in other words, without Jackson, Petrino doesn't come across as an "offensive genius." Exactly my point.
