How early can Rutgers accept Pinstripe Bowl bid?

I completely get that point of view but I don't mind them so much to watch at the PS bowl while I am in my man cave watching. But, it sucks for the team as well as fans that really enjoy traveling to bowls.
On the other hand- the arguing about "which bowl" is so great to have again!
I so wanted Vegas but I will go to Pinstripe.
But I could fly, stay for 4 nights, and eat for free at the casinos closest to the stadium.
Fly home Christmas Eve. Hmmm. Good times.
So it would cost me less than Pinstripe...well, until I hit the tables...

We still don't know what the Big Tern bowl alignment will be going forward.
But a good chance we have some nice location to visit in the coming years.

Curious- and nothing more...Which Casino's have free food? I know the drinking is free and buffets are cheap- but is the food free?
If we go in this year then we can't in 2024 but can return in 2025. The last year of the current contract. So if we struggle to win 6 games in 2025 with GW it's back to the Bronx.
No sure we will win 6 games if he is still our starting QB
Hopefully the B1G walks away from this Bowl in 2 years.
Not understanding the logic. Now, if you changed it to “if KM is not our starting RB” it would make sense.
Next year- even if GW isn’t the next coming, let’s assume he makes only a 10% improvement- our OL is more experienced with our OL coach.
We have Howard Akron 2 wins, VaTech tossup Neb/Ill/MST who we are better than and Minny tossup
We know our QB won’t win us any games and in fact can cause us losses… hence the game plan is modified drastically to account for this glaring shortfall. 2 wins for sure next year. Right now VT would beat us. On the road in Blacksburg next season is going be real tough..not sure you can call this a toss up. If we can get some vital Transfers in the Portal at key positions our chances improve. There are 4 B1G conference games that could be competitive but a lot of breaks might be needed to get 2 wins ( especially if KM is gone).
GW we had this year was still capable of winning games. If he is only 10% better- he will be even more capable.
With that said- I think he needs to improve more than 10%
And as much as you say VaTech would be a loss right now- it may be true for many of the same reasons as MAryland- more depth. I also think if we had played Iowa earlier in the season- much more likely we could have won that one.
We didn't win 6 games in spite of GW- there are a lot of things he does do that helped the team. He also has the belief of the team. I had hoped to see him improve more during the season but I do think he improves in the off season. We should also have more weapons- and maybe if KM isn't back and the other guys dont step up to that level- Greg and Kirk may have to roll the dice and air it out.
But I think a lot of the late failures was as much coaching as our team play.
So GW could (fairly easily) handle VT earlier this year BUT now he wouldn't beat them? Not buying it, sorry. Same with next year (can NOT wait to go there, btw, never been). We played the 29th most difficult schedule in the nation (and that INCLUDES both Temple and Wagner. VT's SOS of 67 didn't include anyone nearly as bad as those 2 teams (hence dragging down our SOS). My point? They lost to RU, Purdue and Marshall OOC. Beat ODU. So they went 5-3 in a lousy conference.
Not specifically commenting on Rutgers v. VT.
In general it seems fans only attribute "growth" or "getting one year older" to their own team and just assume opponents won't also get better.
It is possible we get 10% better but an opponent who we beat this year gets 20% better and wins.
It's the same reason people think we'll beat Maryland each year.

I get what you're saying....but on THESE boards...it's just the opposite. OUR fans - the "usuals" - always assume that our OPPONENTS will get better while we will not. It's stunning, annoying and at times, nauseating.
Maybe you hadn’t notice. VT got much much better as the season progressed and we regressed… both on Offense and Defense (see the last game). VT won 4 out of their last 6 games. Only losing to highly ranked Louisville and NCST. VT won these 4 games by a margin of 25 points. We got lucky they hadn’t found their QB yet when we played them. They would literally kick our arse right now.
Think what you want. If our star RB leaves and we have to rely on any type of passing game we are screwed.
Lousy way to look at things. We also played one of the most difficult, if not THEmost difficult, schedules in the country down the stretch.
Point is the team has regressed.
And saying we are better now than VT and NW is nonsense.
