How many NJ teams are better than Rutgers ?

lol at the Indiana and Baylor examples because in year 3 there recruiting was going boffo...so try to make a silly comparison to this and then add in how RU hasn't made the tourney for 25 years and has no facilities so its pretty apparent whats going on here

you think Eddie has the fire and energy of Drew and Crean not to mention the connections in college....its amazing how wrong you are on this argument

Normally, people understand that when you have a scandal or any other one time event that the event is NOT rock bottom.....rock bottom comes later, then you slowly recover. Like a stock market crash...lol

I understand New Jersey impatience.....I was born and raised there and will be there tomorrow for the Holidays, thru Jan. 3rd. . Anybody wanna get together for a game and discuss basketball ? lol

Maybe we can run into some top Jersey players and convince them to go to Rutgers.....the same way that clown who posted how he convinced a top player to consider Rutgers in a 3 minute conversation....that was his example to prove that the staff was not working hard. Now, that was funny. That

Recruiting is moving the goal posts, lol? I see you like facts, but can't deal with those.

Freeman was one of the hottest JuCos in the country. Sanders was a kid a ton of programs wanted. Both were four star recruits. Foreman was a Rivals Top 150 kid with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Iowa State, Minnesota, Pitt, and Providence, . Laurent had offers from Alabama and Georgia Tech. Doorson from Pitt. Diallo from Marquette, Oklahoma State and Nebraska. Williams had offers from Dayton, GW, Iowa, St. Johns and temple. They have played less than half their Sophomore and Freshman years. And our best recruit is hurt.

Your point about recruiting is?

how about these goalposts...22 losses in the last 26 games...only wins over non D1 Rutgers Newark and 3 of the worst programs in D1 Howard, Central Arky, and Cent. Conn St....and some of them were struggles

Freeman is gone next year so he isn't even going to be part of the winning...Foreman, Diallo and Laurent have shown at best they will be Big 10 role players...yes they are young but this program isn't going to move forward with them, going to need a lot better..and if you arguing that recruiting is solid well then that must mean the coaching is horrific

Not a point, just facts, since you love them so much.

Eddie has no recruits in his 3rd year. A guy who took over a program where there was a cover-up by the by the coach was landing 4 star players on the reg his third year, and consistently thereafter.

My initial post was Drew, taking over a program with a far biggers scandal, had the program moving in the right direction faster. That still holds true regardless of being off by 4 wins.

People here said it's impossible to rebuild faster after a scandal. I gave an example of that being inaccurate.

Now, you wouldn't be moving the goal posts would you, lol?

Analysis focusing on results is flawed.

Pointing out the little things.

Small thing that to me says a lot.....we have a foul to give at the end of 1st half. We sub in Hyde. MU gets a layup. Unacceptable.

2016 class?

Horse puckey:

Corey Chandler
Mike Coburn
Earl Pettis
Justin Sofman

Mike Rosario
Greg Echenique
Patrick Jackson
Christian Morris

Dane Miller
Austin Johnson
Brian Okam

Those are his three recruiting classes. Fred Hill was not a good recruiter while at RU. Mike Rice was a better recruiter.

And please don't cite Rivals rankings. Please. The key to being a good recruiter is getting kids like Douby or Terry Dehere or Mark Bryant, not kids who can't play high level basketball regardless of their Rivals ranking. Kids like Whitehead or Jerry Walker who can play high level basketball AND are rated highly also make for a good recruiter. Getting Kids like Corey Chandler or that tall PG from Illinois who was highly rated but couldnt play for you doesn't mean you can recruit (imo).

Completely agree. The idea that FHJ recruited well but couldn't win because he was a bad floor coach is pure myth. He was a bad coach, but his recruiting was awful. And I agree don't say the FHJ was a great recruiter because he got a player like Corey Chandler, who frankly, was a bad basketball player, no matter what his ranking was.

The fact is we have not had nearly enough good basketball players to be competitive. Not NEARLY enough. Getting 4 serviceable players over 3 years is a recipe for losing . Its why Wenzel failed. Its why Waters failed. Its why EJ is failing. Bannon and Rice did a little better but not nearly good enough.

right now we are probably 4th or 5th best in NJ.

Come late January to early February and we are probably right behind SHU and maybe Monmouth.

And just how does one do THAT ?
What's the selling point ? The constant losing ? The endless NCAA tourney drought ? The coach that will definitely be gone at the end of this season or next ?
This is like the Shea years or the Littlepage years. I couldn't look a kid in the eyes and say: "Yeah...you should go to Rutgers."

Rutgers might not win a game in January/February following the pattern of last year in the B1G.

Well, Bush DID get us into that awful foreign policy disaster that was his phony invasion of Iraq. And he was leading the country when we hit that iceberg known as the Great Recession.
Those two can't be fixed quickly with a couple of jc transfers and some hot shot freshmen recruits.
i cant believe someone is still blaming bush

Right now 7 out of 8.

Freeman changes everything. Especially head to head vs Princeton, rider, St. Peter's, NJIT, and even Monmouth

Just to let you know an ex-Terp Tahj Holden coaches a team 30 minutes from Rutgers that has several of the top players in your state. Rutgers staff has yet to pay them a visit even though Holden requested one.

That's the kind of follow up that shows they know they will be fired.

Early playing time?
