I am surprised we havent heard or no one has uncovered any clues about Corey since B1GT

Corey not having to play 35 mins and get shots in better situations and not having to go one on one all the time will help in itself. Having teams having to respect other shooters would help too.

Good points, but 4 year player Jeremy Lin shot 28% or worst his first 2 years then increased to 40%, so it’s possible.

And then regressed back down to .341 as a senior. I don't think you're going to find a player whose first three years went .315 .266 .224 suddenly jump up over .350 as a senior.

Too excited for the team next year. Out of the past four years, I think next years team has me most excited. Sanders staying or not.

I just see the program having a lot of fun with the options they are given. Lots of competitors on the team.

It will be great to see Johnson and Kiss play. I really like the players coming in.

Harper Jr is the sleeper of the class. I think he will be a complimentary , 12ppg 6rpg player during his time on the Banks.
You have everyone scoring in double figures. We’re going to score 100 pts/game.

I am talking about Johnson over the length of his career. I think next year he will be a 4-5 ppg player with 2 rebounds. Competition will be high next year. I think scoring will be lower per player, but more spread out.

If it's about the dream, he should stay his last year. More exposure, more development.

If it's about the short term money, then he should play overseas or wherever.

We've heard him say it himself. The goal is the NBA. You guys think he is at his full potential and that he should make the most of his current value. But if he has any belief in himself at all, he needs to believe he can take it up a notch. You guys forget...

Freshman year = Offensive firepower, but less emphasis on defense, IMO
Sophomore year = First Pikiell year, More balanced emphasis on being elite in offense and defense
Junior year = Hell of a lot of minutes on a condensed schedule, playing on the strongest conference schedule

Fitness-wise, it has gotten progressively harder, IMO. Next year, he has more experienced teammates/new guard help and a spaced out, normal schedule. If it's any year, next year is the year to shine.

He is more than likely not back. The other posters are correct that he is going back to Florida at spring break but the decision has already been made. It is mostly due to personal things in his life. He has given us a great 3 years and he will be sorely missed next year.
But honestly, where is he going? Getting drafted by the NBA is a pipe dream.

Don't expect any announcement soon since he can't change his mind once he declares. He will wait as long as he has to and get the best feedback he can before he decides. I expect his decision to be made at the last minute.

IMO a lot depends on how the situation is back here in Lakeland Florida.

50- 240$$ looms large if circumstances are rough & family responsibilities need to be met.

I surely hope he returns but I can totally understand if he doesnt.

The Israel league has become a more popular spot in recent years . Financial stability(guaranteed checks), English speaking , nice weather , etc. $100k about avg I think I read.
Quick look at their leading scorers/familiar names:
Glen Rice Jr
David Laury
Drew Crawford
Jerome Dyson
Jeff Adrien
Zach Leday

Average of $100K... so new signees that aren't NBA prospects would probably be less than that. Saw a report from 2013 that said most salaries were $2500-5000/month, but American players would usually see a bit more. It didn't say if that included the offseason, but working that out to a 12-month salary would be just $30-60K.

You also typically don’t pay for housing, transportation, cell phone, or internet when playing overseas for a program with a solid reputation.

I am not for paying college players (per say) but this is an example of where some form of financial (call it bridge) support would be effective. A guy that might/could stay for his Sr. year and get his degree vs. leaving to chase perhaps $100k.

I don't know the answer but there is enough cash out there in college sports to figure something out like they do with insurance policies for players worried about getting hurt. And even better if the funding went direct benefit of family support (not say cash but credits for housing and food and child support etc)... the compassionate conservative side of me :)

All signs pointed to him leaving last year. Let’s wait until we hear from Corey, maybe he still has unfinished business, or maybe he likes Rutgers enough to graduate.
