I do not like the plans

When Steve Wynn built the Golden Nugget in AC he put the executive offices on top of the parking garage. His office was there. Not a problem
Right in New Brunswick - are One Spring, the Gateway, and the Aspire not built over a garage??

I like the plans, except, why are we spending ANY money on the locker rooms for visiting teams? We should just relocate them to Newark and use the newly found space to "R" advantage. Just a thought.

I like it!! Make them use their team buses. No, seriously, we don't need to spend a lot of money on visitors' locker rooms. I wouldn't be against painting it pink a la Iowa either. Or rather, we can just paint it that ghastly salmon color to match our uniforms and it'll make the visiting team puke before the game. Visitor's dehydration leads to great home field advantage!

I like the proposal.

A lot.

The focus seems to be on functional upgrades. Unless Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne graduates, we are never going to win the number-of-flatscreens-and-waterfalls race. If a recruit wants uber facilities, we will lose.

What we don't want are for kids to think Rutgers doesn't have the latest training and cutting edge recovery equipment.

We should aim to make make the locker room, weight room, and recovery room like NFL facilities, not Oregon, 'Bama, or MD.

To me, something similar to the NY Giants would be perfect. The utilitarian/spartan look:
That would be fine if you were recruiting against NFL teams. The reality is your not. College facilities have more bells and whistles because they have to attract players. NFL teams draft players. A recruit is not going to be impressed if you tell them are facilities are plain because that what the NFL has.

We will see who is right. Time will tell. I hope I am wrong, but I have absolutely no faith in the Rutgers Adminstration or New Jersey politicians to do anything right. I bet a lot is going to go wrong. Mark my words.

ANd what does that have to do with these plans. If RU is going to mess up this "low level plan", then it is almost surely because they couldnt raise the funds to do it right. That doesnt speak well for their ability to raise funds for an even more lavish plan and execute it.

I think this sums up alot of what is wrong with college sports. Can we just get it over with and declare it a minor league, pay these guys, have a draft, etc. The red queen stuff is out of control and ultimately detrimental to the athletes, the schools, and the fans.

They will never have a draft. They have to toe a fine line or else they will lose tax exempt status and donation.
