I hope Eddie is doing things the right way...so far so good.

Please show me where I stated that he should be severely disciplined.

What I said was at ND he would be.

I have no familiarity with the Rutgers Administration and their view of things. At ND I'm very familiar with both .

Kind of a difference-----perhaps you'll even get it.

Honest mistake?
You seem to think it wasn't.
td Irish seems to be implying at RU doesn't have the same ( high) standards as ND has .
Both of you don't know exactly what was in Flood's e-mail and seem to believe the worst about him.
Hey you might be right, but also might be the type that made the Salem Witch Hunt the only game in town
years ago in the Massachusetts Bay Colony.

Flood made a mistake and until I find out how big it was, will give him the benefit of the doubt that his contacting that professor was not a major violation , but a minor error in judgement concerning procedure rules when it comes to contacting his players teachers.
If it comes out more than that , hopefully RU will treat him harsher than ND would do and you'll be able to claim it was more than a mistake and make like Flood's running a rogue program.

Sorry that ND kid passing away really ticked me off. Imagine if it had been here instead of ND. And Kelly was the head coach. He does deserve a lot of blame.

The OP (Fig) is the same guy who repeatedly called EJ for being Lazy. So personal attacks on the RU coaches integity with lack of facts is nothing new for him.

It should be common sense that a head coach doesn't send an e-mail to a professor. It really doesn't matter what is in the body of the e-mail.

Correct

SJ

Just a heads up----all 5 were suspended from the university. One of them was a preseason AA.

In the previous year we suspended our starting QB and an an NBA 1st Round Draft choice along with captain of our Hockey team which was ranked in the Top 10.

I don't see that happening anywhere and if you think it's only a problem at ND you're kidding yourself.

Madhat

Stop with generalities-----you completely misquoted me.

He's not allowed to email instructors-----period.

Let's see:

1. RU coach sends an email to a professor to see if there was anything the student could do to improve his grade.
2. Notre Dame coach hates practicing indoors so he's outside and the film crew in 40 mph winds be damned resulting in the death of a human being.

Which of the above is indefensible?

I do not give a flying f&*k what happens at Notre Dame. What did happen was a disgrace, and there should have been consequences, but it has ZERO to do with what is happening here. Flood should not have sent ANY email to ANY professor. The content of the email is important for severity of punishment, but the act itself was improper. That's pretty much common knowledge. And the fact he did it on behalf of a kid who already was trouble bothers me.

And yes, it is important to separate the home invasion from the fight. DO NOT minimize the home invasion, but it was not everybody. Yes, that matters. And at least one of the students involved in planning the home invasions was NOT A FOOTBALL PLAYER. Imagine that! Guess that's Barchi's fault?

Most importantly, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO READ AN EMAIL AND DECIDE WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT? This should be over already ... But I will not compare it to worse things happening at other schools to make myself feel better.
