To me there is no reason why not. I understand why they don’t in the stadium since it’s outside and they don’t want people opening them up and blocking the view of others for the game. However they do allow them in the stadium during graduation, so it’s not a public safety issue. So therefore there’s no reason they should not let them inside the RAC.
They think people will use them as weapons or throw them on the court. Its truly ridiculous to think thats going to happen. I think theyll have a big box wherecypu can dump them in before entering
We just confirmed with Rutgers. Umbrellas are allowed. They'll even have umbrella bags at the doors.
That’s interesting as the official athletics website say no umbrellas allowed in the RAC. Maybe time for someone in marketing to update this

I guarantee you what will happen is that some ticket takers will allow umbrellas and some will not, leading to even more confusion.
Can you clarify who/what dept confirmed this? Was it the ticket office? Seems to be in conflict with the website. Thanks.
I hope I'm wrong but I would go by the official policy that's in writing.
Easier than having to schlepp back to the car to drop it off.
My umbrella has been confiscated before an event at the RAC. You get to pick it up on your way out the door.
Now this I’ve actually seen. They keep the pile of umbrellas behind the bag check tables in the small area between the doors in the front
