Pike has built a team of length that is fun to watch. I recall years when we'd actually track how many dunks we had - because they were so rare. These guys are throwing it down all game long. Every game. Fun to see. And it excites the crowd and hopefully recruits too.

It really is amazing how far we've come.

I remember the Sports Illustrated article circa 1978 that cited Jammin James Bailey’s 90 dunks that year. Wouldn’t be surprised if Bruce Johnson started reporting dunk counts as a result of that.

Don't forget the no look passes. Dunks are satisfying, but for me, beautiful no look passes are just as awesome. Even though we are clearly stronger on defense than offense, I enjoy watching the flow of our offense most of the time. If we were able to knock down open threes and free throws consistently, we probably have even more wins.

Wow, that is insane. I clearly remember the 90 (or 95) dunks cited in that article. Must’ve been written before the season ended.

Every time we mention Bailey I like to point out he is the all time leader in dunking. Both for a season and college career

Didn’t Eddie Jordan once say that the undefeated team would have been the original “Phi Slamma Jamma” , or something like that, had they been able to dunk in college at the time?

Every time Bailey is mentioned I like to point out the ocean sized gap in time between top 25 level teams of then and now. Damn that’s a long time.

Let’s pull out the win on Sunday to continue rebuilding a greater fan base.

Some other head coach, I think it was The St. John’s coach, was asked how it felt having to play Louisville, noted for their dunking, and he replied that the johnniies had to Play us and Bailey had more dunks than the entire Louisville team

Yeah, I remember when getting drunk was noteworthy, too.

I remember when inbounding the ball, finishing a layup and getting it across the timeline without a turnover were major accomplishments. It's amazing what Pike has done.
