I would love to hear Mike Rosario and Dahntay Jones Perspective

A lot of this comes down to culture and lack of consistency of coaching.

- Waters was with RU for 5 seasons with a .513 win % overall and a .350 conference win % but was shown the door after 3 NIT appearances
- Fred Hill Jr coached for 4 seasons with a .379 win % and a .186 conference win % and no post season appearances
- Mike Rice coached for 3 seasons with a .463 win % overall and a .296 conference win % and no post season appearances
- Eddie Jordan has been at RU for 2 seasons with a .379 win % overall and a .233 conference win %

We need to show that we have a consistent coach. In football recruits were down on Flood until he signed an extension to show he would be around a bit longer. Recruits have no confidence that a RU coach will be around for their 4 years of college at this point. That needs to change.

While hindsight is 20/20 it appears that Waters was the best of the bunch and probably should have been retained longer.

Not surprising. I've seen it first hand along with Christian Morris, Corey Chandler and that kid Patrick I'm forgetting his last name. Basketball just doesn't seem to recruit the committed, hard-working athletes that Football does.

My word....they smoked marijuana!!! Not advisable during the season but these are kids ages 18-22. Shit happens. Immature bad decisions. Maybe it shows a lack of commitment or maybe it doesn't. if you think it is specific to basketball players rather than football players and not to the individual itself, that's laughable.

If you do have "first-hand" knowledge of this, why air it out on a public message board -- especially if you think its a big deal? Snitches get stiches.

I don't think it is a big deal. Just adding my .02. I don't think smoking is a negative mark on someone's character either. Participating in an activity like that during the season does show a lack of commitment IMO. I would compre it to not completely sticking to a nutrition plan or something similar. Definitely guys on the football team do that but I guarantee the football program has a culture much more committed than the basketball program. You are delusional if you think otherwise.

Some of us said that before Mulcahy fired him. Me, BK, a few others. But it was like p*ssing into a hurricane.
Waters is a fine coach. as he has continued to prove at Cleveland State. He was treated badly at RU, and we paid the price.
