If the OC is still coaching in a bowl game …

It's going to be interesting to say the least. I'm confident in two things: (1) Its going to be a dissapointing hire, and (2) the Schiano fanboys will reach a new level in moving the goalposts.

Is cheese not the most pathethic poster on this board. Keep defending your man at Northwestern who is like 2-22 over the last two years. You seem to have unlimited patience with him.

You don't want the heat. Don't walk into the jungle hombre.

Winnable in my mind doesn't necessarily mean favored, but certainly games if we play and are coached well are not out of the realm of the possibility of winning. Wisconsin and MSU are not Michigan and OSU, or even PSU. In the fourth year of a rebuild Rutgers should be competitive against all of those teams, otherwise, what is the point.
Sorry, but Luke Fickell will stomp Rutgers, even in year 1.

Cracked the code, and figured out what was going on a week or two ago in this pic. Greg told Murhphy the OC job was his when his current term expires if nobody else accepts the job. That's why he has his fingers crossed.

FkMs_BpUAAAzU0-

Is Murphy sick? He doesn't look healthy.

Lots of big games left . Even if it’s a QB coach, this means Greg poached someone from a good or even big time program. It might be a great hire and a huge upgrade from a hs coach calling plays !! Greg may have hit a home run hire here

Greg "lured" Gleeson away from Oklahoma St after 2019 bowl game vs Texas A&M lol

This.
A better Coached team with proper game preparation would give us a good chance in games against Wisconsin and MSU. However we have seen nothing that resembles that with this Staff.

Right😂😂

Nunzio will need 7-8 years to rebuild the offense….starting in 2025 that is. Because Flood.
Honestly if Nunzio runs an option offense with our solid RBs and Wimsatt, might not be awful. Remember the Johnny Offense we ran? Oh wait that was awful...

Well it’s 2023 and we still don’t have an OC lmao
It’s only been 85 days since Gleeson was fired and 40 since the end of the season. No need to be in a rush! Didn’t expect an in season hire but come on. Winter conditioning starts in 2 weeks I hope he makes the hire before that. Considering he missed every other deadline, portal, end of season official/unofficial visits, signing day….

No. Because why wouldn't HC Schiano force him to join staff immediately for a promotion and pay raise?

Unless you think we are getting a HC/OC from a big bowl team - which seems unlikely.

Maybe we're getting a WR or QB coach and promoting him to OC from a team still playing.

We can wait till August
Let all the players in the Portal disappear. Start fresh.

Maybe Schiano is waiting until opening day so that their offense is a complete surprise for everyone

That’s it !
You know Schiano always insists on hiding his secret offensive weapons from the opponents before games. LMAO

Yes, the wheels in his mini-brain were revving in overdrive to hatch that masterful gamesmanship plot. It will definitely work on the first series at Northwestern. We will end up punting on 4th and 9 rather than 4th and 12. So, kudos to Greg. Every penny of his $32M contract is well spent.

After next week all the bowls will be over and there will be at least 3 or 4 NFL staffs let go, so I am assuming that the new OC comes from one of those sources. If not, this really has been a true screw up on Schiano's part.

Any OC on an NFL playoff team is more than likely looking to be an NFL HC, not to go to coach college lol

At this point, it probably would have to be a position coach at either the college or pro level if their teams are still playing.

There is no reason to wait naming the person if it an NFL guy. They have announced they were moving and still finished the season especially if it was a college guy.

We are holding out hope it’s a competent hire and not nunzio

Schiano will not be hiring an Offensive Coordinator. He will hire another defensive coach to act as co-DC, and just give all the position coaches on the offensive side of the ball a chance to call the plays for a few series. What worked so well for our QBs will be applied to the whole offense.

Here is a name, Ja’Juan Seider, co-offensive coordinator/running back coach at PSU. The guy is an awesome recruiter. Coming to Rutgers as OC would be a theoretical step-up, anyway it fits the premise of a college position coach who is still coaching.

It’s not a screwup if no one qualified wants to coach under him, which is why my money is still on Nunzio. Either that or the WR coach at East Central Texas Seminary Tech will take the job and bring his skill players here after this semester.

I heard that stadium sound guy everyone obsesses over put in a good word.
