Incredibly, a new low for Penn State - "Sandusky is Innocent"

Reality:
Penn St paid off victims of sexual abuse since he late 70s, one case was supposed to
have been in early 70s
Jerry Sandusky started out as a full time assistant at Penn St in 1969. ( coincidence ?)

Joe Paterno is supposed to have no idea Sandusky was a pervert and didn't know.
( though his name is mentioned by at least two victims of having knowledge of Sandusky's conduct towards children as far back as the 70s.)

Paterno never was in the loop about Sandusky's actions ( strange that when he was PSU's AD in early 80s he wouldn't have heard rumors of payouts for sexual abuse being in that position and a powerful voice inside the school's administration.)

Joe never was told in 1998 when it was going on how Sandusky was being investigated for possible child abuse and admitted he showered with a child after that child's mother call the police after learning of he child showering with a grown man .
(yes Sandusky being told he wouldn't be in line to replace Paterno and retiring after the 1999 season wasn't because Joe forced him out because of that investigation. Joe didn't know what was happening with his DC, if that's possible)

Of course after being told about Sandusky in 2001, Joe did everything he needed to and did the same for the next 10 years. ( while Sandusky walked around campus being honored with the Coach Emeritus handle and bring childeren to Penn St bowl games. Joe really had no idea that was happening or that Sandusky was preying on children from when he started out out as Paterno's DL coach in 1969 to the day the
day Sandusky was finaly brought to justice. Also a e-mail message saying:>"After giving it more thought and talking it over with Joe yesterday, I am uncomfortable with what we agreed were the next steps."< doesn't necessary mean Paterno, it could have been GI Joe for all we know )
Those are the realities

Those realities you just mentioned have been rehashed over and over and over. The point is that Joe Paterno being a pedophile is not a reality.

I'm not on the Paterno train. I couldn't give two shits about Joe Paterno.

What happened with the Catholics and Boy Scouts were disgusting as well, but shouldn't be used as a defense of what Penn St did or attack someone commenting
on it.
If a person is being hypocritical , it doesn't make what's being said about Penn St less true.

I was responding to someone who said something about Schiano and that they would disassociate from him completely. You're smarter than this. I said that it was a University failure...the whole upper administration of the University...and that includes Paterno...knew and was culpable. Same exact thing happened in the catholic church AND the boy scouts. They were all massive coverups yet people treat one differently from the other two. That's the exact definition of hypocritical.

Actually there is a school of thought that Paterno was an accessory to Sandusky because of the way Paterno is perceived ( but never charged) to have aided Sandusky avoid being arrested along with other Penn St officials by covering up for that perverts actions after they were informed he molested a child.
So maybe accessory to an act of pedophilia might be a better description

I mean, I'm pretty sure people on here know where I stand in regards to Paterno. It always comes down to that damn email. If law prevented him from being kept abreast then maybe I would feel differently.

There's plenty of stuff out there that can allow you to personally damn Paterno but accusing him of being a pedophile is a little much IMO.

In regards to the church and scouts, how is it different? The only reason it is different in people's minds on here is because they hate Penn State (and always have...let's be real) and the other two don't fit their agenda.
