Huge road game for Rutgers tonight.

- Indiana is 67 in the NET, means a Q1 game for Rutgers
- Rutgers will be a Q3 home game for the Hoosiers, good opportunity to damage their resume

Defensively
- Stay connected like they were against Columbia
- Need to have solid man-to-man rotations
- Focus on help defense when Ballo/Reneau get the ball
- Mgbako has been up and down this year, but he is a threat near the rim so force him away from the basket, he's 64% around the rim but shoots 40% on far jump shots
- Force Indiana to shoot from deep, they're terrible at 30.3% on the year (305th nationally)
- Ogbole has been playing well (improving from game to game) need him to limit unnecessary fouls and increase his role on the defensive end
- J-Will and J-Mike need to put pressure on Indiana's guards w/o fouling, be aggressive but not too aggressive, you know Indiana is gonna get the home whistle tonight from the refs
- Rutgers has to find a way to rebound the ball, limit the second chance opportunities despite Indiana not being great at offensive rebounding

Offensively
- Crisp ball movement and solid ball distribution is a must (just like last game against Columbia), LIMIT THE ISO BALL
- Dylan Harper has been incredible all year, would love to see him snag some more assists
- Need Bailey to continue taking jumpers from the elbow, that's his best shot, let the offense come to him and work shots in the flow of the offense
- J-Will is great on his step back jumpers and floaters near the rim, would like to see a few more of those attempts in this game
- Feed Sommerville in the post, but just need him to get a bit more physical going up around the rim
- Rutgers must hit between 8-10 three-pointers in this game
- Pikiell MUST have Ace or Dylan on the floor at all times, Rutgers cannot afford to have both off of the floor at the same time like last game against Columbia

Rutgers has a real shot at pulling off a nice win tonight, let's hope they're ready for a wild crowd at Assembly Hall

Obviously assists are good because that means a basket was made....

To the general thought around Dylan looking to pass (defer) to others........not sure I am on board here.

I actually want him attacking Indiana's defense from the wing.....that's just me.

Absolutely, would love to see him attack NON-STOP but if he can't draw defenders and kick out a pass for someone who can shoot it

Very effective using Ace as go to vs Columbia and Dylan as disributor in 1st half

Its what the defense called for, or gave to RU in the 1st half - and was unstoppable. When Columbia changed its zone in the 2nd half to try to cut off the pass to Bailey flashing to the foul line, and Derkack did not produce a basket in 3 wide open flashes, RU changed its offense to adapt (for those who say Pikiell doe not coach offense). RU then switched to setting screens for Williams or Harper at the top of the key, allowing both to penetrate the top of the zone with their dribble drive off the screen, getting into the middle of the zone below the foul line (the hole in the zone) through the dribble penetration. From there Williams and Harper each either took the ball to the rim, took a mid-range floater, or passed to the corner when the zone collapsed.

Also, RU had Davis dribble penetrate with his quickness, from the wing, mainly with Harper on the OPPOSITE wing. And when Davis did so the opposite side zone pinched in, leaving Harper wide open for the 3 ... or Davis passed to Sommerville posting up, open because he was one on one, in the open middle to the zone fairly deep into the zone.

Sommerville and Derkack are each becoming the non-three-pointer third option when out there. Sommerville looks close to getting himself a true breakout game.

Don’t need a “breakout” scoring game, just rebound and don’t get caught out of position on D. 10-12 points in the flow is fine
