I reached out to this board regarding tailgating options this past summer and am back to get some more advice/let you know of our plans.

We are staying in the city and plan on driving down early Saturday morning. Rented a 15-person passenger van in order to haul all the supplies we are bringing out which includes, but is not limited to, generator, speakers, life-size Jenga, washers, tent, and food and drink. Sounds like we are going to pick up a pass for the blue lot on the secondary market. Looking forward to rubbing shoulders with Rutgers fans. In that Rutgers is an FBS team, and not an FCS squad, Iowa may have a chance to win.

Thanks again for all the advice previously provided.

What other advice are you looking for?
I think our lots open pretty early. You can probably get there at 8 a.m. or earlier, but others will chime in on that. Sounds like your setup will fit right into the blue lot. Have fun, and let us know if you have specific questions.

For the Blue Lot, I believe you access the lot from Campus Drive, which can be picked up from Route 18.

I pinned a thread up top which links to your prior thread and a few others. Take a stroll through those, then come back with any additional questions you might have.

What time do you think you'll end up in the Blue Lot? We'll be there cracking the first beer around 8:30.

Uh oh.

Please don't blame the entire fanbase for the actions of the cranky old people in the blue lot who call the cops because you're having too much fun.

If you only have the one pass and van, you may have trouble fitting all of that in the space you are allowed for tailgating. Your tailgate will be confined to the area directly behind your vehicle stretching 8-10 feet back (if you have a canopy part of it will be over the back of your van to fit in the allowed space), any more than that and the police will make you move your stuff closer to the vehicle. I have arrived at the blue lot as early as 6 am and never had a problem.
