Is gameday parking really $30?

They need to fix the Suttons lane entrance, tonight was Trenton all over again. It was great last year. I guess it's down to fewer attendants? Will have to try something else Sunday I guess.
I got to game 15 minutes before tip off and it was a breeze no long delays. Green lot

Why is that funny?
Because they admit they CAN'T charge for parking for womens basketball, and women's basketball are the ten cent crayons in walmart during back to school that they lose money on

now if you want to complain about traffic try coming to games on a Friday nite from NY

Well that sounds even dumber! Paying nfl prices for the men’s games and nothing for the poorly attended women’s games is just bad business
It is actually smart!

The goal is to maximize revenue given some restrictions to not really allienate fanbase ($50 parking might do that).

The demand for woman’s game is low so cheap parking may be necessary to get people to go to games. Hoops is sold out PLUS next year RU athletics has supreme pricing power.

The extra wage for the worker is almost negiligible. The demand for parking is what is moving the optimal price higher.

Rutgers would have been stupid to keep prices the same given tickets sold and the recruiting class next year. Be prepared to see ticket prices spike next year.

If you like Pike do 1 of 2 things
1. Pay $30
2. It is a secret (i dont even know it)

Sorry, but when it was $10 about 5 years ago, and now you are tripling prices - it's just a bad look. Are they really going to charge $30 for Wrestling? Seriously? For basketball have dynamic pricing or B1G opponent/P5 opponent pricing, but doing this for filler games against bottom feeders is just obnoxious. Last I checked Rutgers does not have a long history of winning in basketball - while they have been doing well in the Pike era, I certainly wouldn't describe it as being wildly successful. The one argument Rutgers can make is that it has a small arena and the demand far surpasses the supply at this point. My question is what happens if and when Rutgers goes back to being that same old Rutgers? On the flip side what happens if Rutgers is wildly successful - where does this train go? Will they start tripling ticket prices?Anyway, this one just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Let’s not compare RU MBB parking to teams that play in pro arenas such as SHU or Georgetown

What are the parking costs at Pen St or Maryland?
For football you can't pay enough at psu . There's nothing available . People pay hundreds extra to get a spot. Ru basketball is now a hard ticket to get like psu football let's hope Ru can get as much as it can like psu football.

$30 is outrageous. There are 18 home games. $540 for parking for a season is crazy.
Season pass was $250 and im glad I bought one in advance because usually I dont always do that. When I pulled in and saw $30 a game I had to do a double take. No way that labor costs went up enough to justify that increase. I dont know the split between the parking company and RU but $10 more a car per game is sure to generate a large revenue increase.

Here is an idea, charge $30 but have a portion of it go to NIL if thats even legal and people would have less of a problem.

Your last comments would be spot on IF Rutgers was savy enough to figure out how to do that.

Georgetown $9 each. 3 Tix for less than to park lol.

Parking should be treated just like football. Pay a fee and park closer. Less for the game day folks parking and walking good distance.

Not faulting them for doing it because as you have pointed out, do not think it will deter anyone from going and its incremental revenue. What would be interesting to know is how many cars end up paying game day price vs how many have pre paid for the season.

Regardless parking goes up or season tickets go up next year as you said Ill be doing #1 and supporting Pike and the program.

Are you seriously comparing parking for PSU football game to a Rutgers basketball game?

LOL what a dumb comparison.

no that's in your dumb mind---wishing RU gets to the point in basketball as PSU is in football game parking and we get as much as we can from our cheap fans that are the WORST contributors in the BIG--there seems to be no other way since many donate only with their mouths .

Comparing parking for a college football game vs. parking for a college basketball game is downright moronic

Let alone comparing parking at a Rutgers basketball game vs. a PSU football which just had 110,000 fans for the Michigan game.

You do realize:

- Fans tailgate for college football games.
- Supply is usually much less than demand for college football games.
- Neither of the above is true for Rutgers basketball games.

you still cant get it ---let RU basketball be as hard a ticket, or parking pass to get as PSU football so we get the funds we need. Ever pay for a PSU ticket let alone parking

Do any folks living nearby Jersey Mike’s sell parking spots like the folks near the stadium do for football?

Parking in the Green Lot tomorrow. Is it possible to access from the Rockafeller Rd side? Or do I have to go Hospital Rd?

truth hurts
t has nothing to do with Biden. It is capitalism run amok. Corporate greed at the highest level. Yes, Rutgers Athletics is a corporation essentially. And it wants more money from you any way it can get it so it can pay for fancy sports palaces and the exorbitant salaries of its coaches.
