He is until he isnt
I didn't ask Pike this questionYes, Rutgers put out an Official statement that he is out of the rotation (SMH)
Chol definitely going to leave before Oskar. I actually don’t see a scenerio where Oskar leaves. He already went down the road of considering a midmajor. He loves Rutgers and will be way more useful in a utility role next season than Chol. Not even close. Fans don’t seem to understand that the back end of the roster isn’t getting “upgraded” in the portal. Transfers want playing time. Oskar is a fantastic fit. It’s almost impossible to do better. We need 2 extra players to leave to accommodate the incoming players.
Conventional thought has generally been Clif/Oskar.
If Clif does return, I guess that moves Woolf into that leaving spot?
Next year: Clif, Somerville, Ogboloe/Woolf?
Doubtful both Ogboloe and Woolf are both here. Even if Clif leaves, do we pursue a more experience C? (And need another player to leave - perhaps Chol?)
I think he was just having fun with your use of the word "officially". No worries, all good.I didn't ask Pike this question
Or Knight
Or Smoke
I didn't even ask Halloway
And decided not to bother Hobbs with such trivial matters
I asked the board, whom I trust, and whos been proven pretty knowledgeable on various subjects throughout the years
I have my own opinion on it, but, wait for it.... wanted to get the view of others of equal or greater knowledge
Crazy I know, right? Actually, I just had a revelation that that that's almost the entire point of being on the message board ???!!!
Correct. Oskar was out of the rotation for 3 games and then Mag has to sit out and suddenly Oskar is not only back in the rotation, but he’s a damn hero with three 3s to keep us in the game.He is until he isnt
Yes - but definitely telling that after Ogbole got the T we spelled Cliff with Hyatt sliding to the 5.Correct. Oskar was out of the rotation for 3 games and then Mag has to sit out and suddenly Oskar is not only back in the rotation, but he’s a damn hero with three 3s to keep us in the game.
I can almost guarantee that Woolf will play at some point in a meaningful spot.
Oskar has got to go we can’t waste a spot on him next year as you can see till Mawot got injured the other day Oskar was not going to play at all and I know he bailed us out in the first half but he really brings nothing to the table so to speakChol definitely going to leave before Oskar. I’m thinking Ogbole with 2 years left is here next season. He knows he is getting valuable minutes and to my untrained eyes is having fun. Wait until the day the light turns on.We need 2 extra players to leave to accommodate the incoming players.

Could have been, but the whole SMH thing had me thinking otherwiseI think he was just having fun with your use of the word "officially". No worries, all good.

I mean people have complained about us taking Oskar back this year when the alternative was literally nothing at all. These people just aren’t very smart.Your not getting it. We have Ace Bailey coming in to play the bulk of the minutes at 4. We’re hoping to keep Mag to swing between the 3 and backing up Ace at the 4. But if he leaves that will be another spot to shop in the portal. Additionally we have two frosh forwards coming in 6-7 and 6-8 Dortch and Grant. What type of a transfer portal kid do you think wants to compete for PT with this? The answer is - not one who will add more value than Oskar.
Now look at guard. We have Dylan coming in to lock down a starter position. Hopefully J Williams starts alongside of him. Then we have Simpson and Davis to share the minutes and possibly we play stretches of 3 guard rotations. If any of the 3 guards on the roster decide to transfer, that will open up yet another portal spot. And you think a guard good enough to realistically compete for time is going to want to transfer here to share time with this log jam? It’s not happening.
At the 5 - we either keep Cliff or directly replace him in the portal with someone experienced. We have Somerville coming in along with Ogbole or Wolf (one will likely transfer because again - who wants to be the 4th option at the 5 on the bench).
So I’ll ask again - why do you think there’s a utility player out there better than Oskar who is going to want to ride our bench to possibly come in here and there for minutes. Any explanation is living in a fantasy world.

Oskar is a perfect end of the bench guy who should not be in the rotation but ready in case of foul trouble/injury. He seems ok to be that guy and not everyone would be.Oskar has got to go we can’t waste a spot on him next year as you can see till Mawot got injured the other day Oskar was not going to play at all and I know he bailed us out in the first half but he really brings nothing to the table so to speak
He’s an ideal candidate for this role in every way possible - including his position which is versatile. And he’s a possible situational zone breaker.Oskar is a perfect end of the bench guy who should not be in the rotation but ready in case of foul trouble/injury. You did say officially. Depending on matchups and how Ogbole plays, we still may see Woolfolk back in the rotation.I didn't ask Pike this question

I thought Pike might use Wolf or Ogbole depending on the size and strength of the other team's 5 but it is trending that Ogbole is the backup 5If Mag stays hurt Pike could put Wolf in some of those minutes depending on the opponent, that Oskar and Austin Williams took up yesterday
If Cliff stays Wolf will be gone. That's pretty much a lock. No one wants to be 4th string 5 behind Cliff Lathan and OgboleWe need 2 extra players to leave to accommodate the incoming players.

Exactly. It's hard to find people who would be happy positive influences and true team first guys playing the very end of the bench especially not in the portal eraChol definitely going to leave before Oskar. I actually don’t see a scenerio where Oskar leaves. He already went down the road of considering a midmajor. He loves Rutgers and will be way more useful in a utility role next season than Chol. Agree with the overall premise, but if a guard transfered, we could find someone. Being only 1 of 4 guards there is definitely room for playing time. Especially if we were to start or play big minutes for 3 guards like we are this yearYour not getting it. We have Ace Bailey coming in to play the bulk of the minutes at 4. Oh yes. Let me clarify. I meant that we aren’t going to be able to add a 5th guard who could help us more than Oskar. If one of the guards leaves, that will open a portal spot and we wouldn’t need Oskar’s. There is no scenerio where we conceivably trade Oskar in for something better was the point.Agree with the overall premise, but if a guard transfered, we could find someone.
