Say what you want about Thiam, but I've seen a positive change in his demeanor and impact over the last couple of games.

Today he had 3 steals and 1 block to go along with his 10 points and 4 rebounds. That's damn good for a freshman playing on the road in a power conference.

Pikiell acknowledged at Court Club that Thiam has physical issues that need to be overcome - such as weight and strength plus he got sick mid-season. He really should have had a red shirt year. But tonight he really showed some glimmers of what he can be. I'm excited about that.

I really think he will be much better next year. If he can get a little stronger he can be very special. As tall as he is he moves his feet very well and usually stays in front of guards.

If he can get to 205+lbs we will have something. He needs strength, especially to his base. But has potential to be a good contributor here.

Is it me or am i already noticing a change in his form? He looks to be shooting from a higher position (ie. More above his head) than earlier in the season (which was too low and very blockable).

At first i thought my eyes were playing tricks on me because I wouldn't have expected this to be an in season adjustment. But i noticed it a few more times

Or maybe it was the OSU broadcast angle?

Anyone else notice this?

good def last night and a couple big 3's which extends the defense. great road game for an undersized frosh

Yes. His release point is different. But, it still looks like a work in progress. Doesn't look smooth, or comfortable yet

He hits one more three and we make couple of free throws or one less four point play and RU beats OSU at their home.

GO RU

Remember we had 2 points taken off the board in the first half when Nigel made a layup but Eugene touched the ball above the cylinder for basket interference.

agree on it not looking comfortable

glad they're working on it. Otherwise he was a 6'9" guy playing like a 6'4" guy...this will help.

if they can get him bulkier, he's going to be very good. we saw glimpses of that last night.

Looks much better in the frontcourt than at guard. Could become a good weak side rebounder

I wish I shared your optimism, but I'm not sold on Issa. I don't see the killer instinct, b-ball IQ, creativity, & improvisation of a "very good" player. In other words, can he go from role player to player? I'm not sure
