Issa Thiam

@Russ Wood , I may have asked you this before, (If yes, I apologize), but, can you offer any insights into Thiam ? If not from direct knowledge, at least what others say about his game and potential.

Also, if not Rutgers, any idea who may be in play for his services ?
I have not seen Thiam play, not even any game video, so I cannot provide any thoughts on his skill set other than a few people say that they heard that he is a "three-and-D" type of player.

Not sure who would pursue him if he reopened. A lot would depend on transcripts etc, since he played abroad until recently. Not every program is prepared to go through that unless it is for a player they have really prioritized.

It's always nice to get some insight, however limited, from someone who actually follows recruiting and/or has sources that follow recruiting. Rutgers certainly needs someone that can hit the "3" and a guy with length that can play some "D".

Who covers hoops recruiting for this site?

For a program that has lost for 25 years !.........extremely limited. I don't think there is anyone that actually reaches out to recruits for comments or scouts players......I could be wrong. I normally go to scot or 247 for some info.

Interesting. I think Jay, at NJ Hoops on the Rivals Network, does a really good job of covering the state.

They're leading for Greak Freak No. 2. Plus other transfers.

Seton Hall would be my guess based on their knowledge of the Thiam situation.
Some Hall insiders think he is pretty good, but we have limited spots and need a power player and a point assuming Isaiah leaves. Our contact to CBA was Sauer, who hasn't been on our staff for a few years.
