JETS fans - Geno Smith

Sorry, we'll just have to disagree. Might be how and where I grew up, but when tensions are high what Geno said is exactly like ringing the opening bell in a boxing match. You best be ready for a swing just in case after saying that.

Not about to throw down a velvet glove like this is a duel in the 1800s.

Yes, we will have to disagree. Of course we could take it outside and settle it man to man! :boxing: or we could sit down and talk about it.[cheers] LOL

Seriously, you didn't answer my questions, but more importantly, if acting cocky rose to the level of deserving a sucker punch as you explain in your background and where you grew up, you must have been involved in and seen hundreds of fights. I can't imagine.

Don't know the specifics - certainly was not there ...
but it is amazing that when you try to listen for voices of Jets players who might be really strongly defending & praising Geno ... and sweepingly totally criticizing Enemkpali .... crickets ....

Jets fan here. Hated the draft pick here and still hate it. This will only speed up the process of the new regime moving on from Smith. Not a Fitzpatrick fan either, but I'll take him temporarily. The QB and an older OLine appears to be the weak link. I really like the defense.

This is going to be filed right next to "Dressing overly sexy in a questionable area doesn't mean it's ok to rape."

Legally solid, but common sense stupid.

Manish Mehta is the Jets beat writer for the Daily News and he usually gets the inside scoop from the players in the locker room. In this case he has multiple players saying that Geno got up in IK's face, pointed his finger in his face and told him that he wasn't doing anything about getting replayed for the debt.

In my book that's pretty egregious behavior on Geno's part to challenge the guy like that in front of his teammates, when it was Geno who reneged on paying back the debt. IMO the Jets need a new starting QB and should say goodbye to Geno.

“That’ll get a man hit every time, especially one that hasn’t earned respect,” a source said.

Well, Geno may still be the future for the Jets. Petty is not NFL material. No gimmick offense leaves Petty looking like a JV QB. No wide open receivers. Petty struggling to go through his reads. Even if the game is moving too fast usually a play or two will show potential is there, but not in this case. I know it's only one game, but the ball don't lie. Geno may not be the answer, but neither is Petty.

The year after Geno left WV I seem to recall some players making comments along the lines that they were happy they have a QB that's a good leader. It was clearly a subtle swipe at Geno. Once a punk always a punk. Wonder how far Geno would have dropped if the sorry-sack Jets didn't burn their (high) 2nd round pick on him.e
