Journeyman Live?

Olivieri barely pulls it out due to a good first period but not a very promising 2nd and 3rd periods as he got completely out wrestled.

Didn’t wrestle much last year and 2nd match of the day. Cardio probably isn’t there yet.

Go Barbosa. Chilokyan is starting and looking good for Stanford. Barbosa is neck and neck. Take advantage of the guys when they are healthy bc you never know down the road. Barbosa already beat everyone there including White by major (per results posted here) so just go with him. Makes zero sense not to. Especially if this is supposed to be one of our better teams.
This. If ur the best guy then go.. the only reason I can think of not going is the staff/wrestler thinks they need an extra year of development… but yeah a RS does not gtd for improvement next year… and neither is a wrestler’s health gtd nor a starting spot gtd.. w how the transfer portal/nil these days….

Pretty much seems best will be:
Dean
Shawver
Olivieri
Clark (Cetta will get his shot and starts)
Harer
White for now (but still say Barbosa)
Turley
Soldano (SCW will also get his shot to win spot)
Poz
Yara

Looks very solid as a line-up but not White and Cetta likely is a better option than Clark.

157 and 165 continue to be conundrums and 141-149 have no real answers post AA.

Bro we got 157 Harer, granted we haven’t seen him against elite competition yet but he’s looking promising. Also, I’d take Clark over Cetta at 149 rn.. and white is 65 and our best option there rn is Barbosa unless he RS.

Olivieri hasn’t shown major improvement yet after a RS but yeah I’m expecting him to at least make nationals again.

I would think 149 is a committee. Clark doesn’t typically give up a ton of points and Cetta is more of a scorer. I’d guess if the pre match math has us losing 149 regardless, Clark is the safer option. But if we need a win and it’s gettable, Cetta will go.

Disagree w this. Think Clark has higher upside..while also being able to keep match closer against elite guys.. if need a win and it’s gettable I’d go w Clark.. not to mention he has a h2h win vs Cetta

You’re telling me Harer beat Turley? That would be pretty damn impressive for him
It’s really not that surprising IMO. Turley can be very sloppy/careless at times which means he can lose to pretty much anyone at any time. On the flip side, he is extremely skilled, funky and takes a lot of risk which means he can pretty much beat anyone at any time. We’ve seen both sides of this coin.

Harer is extremely technically sound and consistent, so it doesn’t take much of leap to see that he could get to Turleys legs and then frustrate him defensively.

Turley also doesn’t have the best gas tank since his injuries so if he’s not scoring early, he’s probably going to struggle against high end guys. No matter how you slice it, Harer taking down a former AA up a couple weight classes is wildly impressive and doesn’t necessarily have to be an indictment on Turley. It’s possible Harer is that good.

Soldano is cooked. Time to move on from him. 14-2 loss to a Soph with a 1-2 career record. Give the spot to SCW

Was so excited when he was coming in, he’s been a huge disappointment based on credentials.

Did I see that right? Soldano just got destroyed 14-2 against Matt Walsh from Harvard basically a nobody.

Oh boy. I'm just following scores on Flo while watching the Giants get their ass kicked and said nah that can't be right. I have no idea WTF happened as I didn't watch it live. But that's not a, O he just got caught, score.

Dammit did he take a RS yet? He needs it asap then he should take over 174 after Turley gone… dang

Bet the Giants are missing Barkley.. and Jones… is not the answer..

Upsets happen especially when you aren’t technically sound and prefer a funky approach. Soldano needs to be more disciplined so hopefully he can shake this off and bounce back.

He cannot take one this year as he competed yesterday and today. Of course if he mysteriously gets injured he might qualify for a medical redshirt.

A 14-2 destruction doesn’t sound like a flukey loss or like he got caught by a funky move or something… he’s been treading downhill ever since he was dubbed the next big thing and lost to Munoz… the results keep getting more inconsistent and now getting beat up by nobodies.. this “hope he bounces back” talk never works.. he’s cooked he needa break or something idk.. hope he can correct it but idk.. dang
