Justin Pierce, William & Mary Forward to Seek Grad Transfer

From watching his highlights, seems like a stretch 4 who has some athleticism. Hes a player like we dont have on the roster, here are his career stats below as well. Has shot 56% from the field and 35% from 3.

Grad transfers are highly sought because of the short term commitment and immediate filling of a need with experience.Until Rutgers starts having winning seasons I don't see how they would win a recruiting battle against well known schools for shooters/scorers.

One of my favorite quotes was from AD Hobbs...." The lack of a practice facility is an albatross around the neck of basketball recruiting".

This kid doesn't upgrade over what we have....he's a specialist off the bench in spot duty.....no evidence he can guard anyone either.

If we went through the 20 to 30 names tossed around last spring who were supposedly such high needs for the schools they picked, most times their playing time was limited because they can't guard anyone.

This kid can hopefully stretch the floor and score but I don't think he would be able to guard Harper Jr...and thats a frosh....how is he going to keep up with Brazdekis of Michigan, Georgi of Illinois, WIggins of Maryland and countless others off the dribble or baseline??

We are already trending in a direction where we don't get enough individual matchups in our favor defensively. When we start trending towards Iowa and Illinois and we don't have Iowa shooters or Illinois athletes, that's a problem.
