#KPTough "Kenny Parker is the Man"

From the article written by Griffin Whitmer:

In the grand scheme of things, strength and conditioning doesn't seem very important for the success of a football team.

What? To me it seems vitally important.

yeah that makes no sense.

it's like saying the engine of a car makes no difference in how it performs

I met Kenny Parker at the Casino Night a couple of weeks ago. He was totally different than in the videos. Very soft spoken and low key. I walked away thinking that he was so mellow, how would he get the players pumped up. He is a totally different person in those conditioning videos.

I kind of agree.

In the GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS, technique, gameplan, and skill plays a MUCH larger role than strength and conditioning.

Give me someone who knows HOW to play football, than someone who's strong, in shape, and doesn't know anything about the game.

That said, S&C is a huge part of the game, but not THE BIGGEST.

I wonder how KP will spend his time during spring practices, and regular practices....does he focus on mental coaching at that point?

I was thinking the mental part too since he's probably as close to the kids right now as anyone. I'd assume he'll also be working with the training and medical staff helping set up individual programs rehabing injuries.

K. Parker's efforts will probably get us a W in at least one game later this year, instead of an L. We'll see.

nj.com really has some great stuff with him this week....

including today's very touching story about his relationship with his daughter. I would assume that the Rutgers area has some great options for her when the family comes out here.

Everything I've read about KP is positive. KP's performance will be measured in the 4th quarter of games, performance late in the season, and injuries. I expect all of these areas to improve this season versus last.

Agreed. I rarely go to NJ.com, but I was curious. Great stuff.
