Lacrosse conference play

Fair enough:

- We have constantly gotten out-coached and outplayed in the second half.

- We lack a killer instinct (opinion)

- We’re sloppy (fact...maybe a youth thing).

- Brecht seems to wait a bit too long to call TO’s (opinion)

- we’re awful in “man up” (fact)

- When I say “too many chefs in the kitchen,” I’m not saying that this is a “bad staff” - AT ALL - I’m saying that we brought in 2 former head coaches in the same off-season, to be our coordinators, and maybe that’s causing some of the trouble especially during games. Not saying it will stay that way forever, I’m pretty sure it’ll work itself out this off-season and hope like hell it does, but obviously something isn’t clicking right now and it’s not just “youth” In my most humble of opinions. If we had made the NCAA tournament even once, the last three seasons, I would accept that excuse but that’s not the case. When I watch the games and these things are very obvious to me, as a non-expert, well....??

Hope that helps brotha!!
Our man up sucks. No argument there.

No problem with Brecht's timeouts. In fact, he typically uses them wisely. Lacrosse isn't basketball. You don't really use them to stop runs unless completely necessary. They are better saved for when a player is in trouble in critical situations. Brian uses them wisely.

Agree, we need more of a killer instinct. But that's just fan speak. Winning is a learned thing. This team and young guys need to learn how to. Sometimes it takes losing to do that.

One of the coaches (Seremet) was a former head coach. The other coach (Cocchi) was never a head coach. He's in the exact same position he was in. Defensive coordinator.

Both are viewed very highly inside and out of the program.

Cali,
Is the Rodkin Center helping with recruiting or do most kids need to see bulldozers and steel before it makes a difference ?

The injuries are killing us. If we can get our full team back we can beat anyone. The second half collapses are still a concern but our 4 losses are against 4 ranked teams and we will have an opportunity to play and beat some of the best going forward. Our RPI may look good at end of season.
There is still hope. Beat Hofstra, Then 3 out of the 5 in conference play with a win over either Penn State or Maryland and at least one win in tournament I think would get us in. Not as impossible as it would seem.

People freak out when you talk about injuries and call it excuse making, but we have most certainly been hit by the injury bug. Our best attackman missed two games, our best ssdm has missed at least two games, our second best missed one game, our starting goalie missed two games, our top face off has missed 4 games. That's in addition to some other non starters but guys who play.

Next man up, but that's a lot of experience and expectation not seeing the field.

This is a fun thread to read...good back and fourth...I will keep my opinions short as I should for reasons...

But again, as I pointed out earlier this team has nothing to do with the wrongs of teams in the past...

Injuries are not excuses...especially when they hit in multiples in the same position groups...

We've lost two SSDM's (#46 in game 1) and #18...and he missed two games where he was really needed (Lehigh and Syracuse)

Fogo has been hit with the injury bug...that's really hurt us...

This team is YOUNG...

Keep watching...
