McDaniels isn't the issue. Laviano just doesn't have the arm to make deep throws. I am impressed by his awareness, throwing it out of bounds, and looking for open receivers. But his throws lack zip or touch. And it looks like anything over 15 yards might not have the power needed to be delivered to the receiverNova was way better. But, Nova also had Cignetti and Fridge versus what we have now.
Of course not, LOL.Kids 2nd start. First in a hostile as hell environment with horrible game plan, no HC, no best player, and a ton of turmoil for the program. I'm not willing to start making fun of our starting Rutgers QB quite yet.

Loser post.
No...you just want to call out the entire state of Pennsylvania and PSU following your frustration. We're all pissed off about the outcome but you seem to take it to another level.
Our fans don't appreciate when they had a good thing. For all his bad moments, RU rode Nova's arm to many victories. Until the same can be said for Laviano, they should not be mentioned in the same breath.
Not for nothing but Laviano is a RS sophomore in his 3rd year with the program. I would expect him to be better at this point in his career compared to Gary Nova who started as a true freshman.
Yeah but Flood wouldn't even put him in a game during garbage time. OSU puts third stringers into championship games and expresses confidence in them. RU treats back-ups like they have the cooties and need quarantining

Poor argument. OSU's quality of depth is on a completely different level.
So it's a Rutgers message board. At the moment we are not rivals....we have single digit wins against PSU over the past 90 years. I was at the last one. Get a grip....maybe when we start winning a share of the games we'll have a true rivalry....until then not so much.
Show some fire and resolve man. You wonder why the kids on the field look flat.
True....no one can argue that. But given that Laviano and Rettig were supposedly neck and neck and the fact that Rettig looked pretty good in the opener should at least warrant him a series or 2.
True. I thought the staff would give Rettig a chance, especially when we got down 21-0.The team needed a spark last night. The fastest way to do that is change QB's.
I'm not disputing that. I think we need to give Rettig a chance, otherwise what was the point of even recruiting him? I'm just saying if you're going to use an example (in this case, saran used OSU), at least make it comparable to our situation.
Have a lot of respect for Laviano going out there and facing that rush all night. No QB can play well n that situation, it's just survival mode and he did a better job than Nova would have under those circumstances.
But we're 2-1 with Nova, he could make all the throws.
Nova would have been terrible against PSU but he would have beat WSU....by two TD's.Last year he made "all the throws" to PSU lol. The PSU DC guaranteed his DBs 5 INTs before the game
Lavi was a squeak better last night!
Gary Nova vs PSU 2014 = 15/30 192 yds 0/TD 5/INT 28.3
Chris Laviano vs PSU 2015 = 27/42 251yds 0/TD 2/INT 28.5
