Let’s get the RAC sold out quick for nationally ranked PSU on January 7th

See my post above.

You may have 40 years of RAC experience but you’re way off here.
I would like to be wrong but I’m sticking with 5800. I was at all the “sell-outs” last year except Penn State and none of the 4 I was at were full. But, as I said, I would like to be wrong.

I'm leaning no sell out, due to it being winter break. Those games are notoriously sparsely attended.

That said, I am not sure why people are now switching to whether the RAC is "full." That is nonsense. All that matters is tickets sold. An announced sell out is a sell out, even if you get some no shows due to the weather or it being a weeknight or it being break. All the school can do is sell all the tickets.

My comment on the RAC being “full” arises from my skepticism that some of last year’s games were actually sell outs. I don’t remember which of the “sell-outs” last year it was, but at one of them I estimated well more than 1,500 empty seats. Not only were the 300 level corners absolutely empty but none of the 300 level sections were full. The other sell outs were more or less similar. I don’t know what accounting magic made these “sell-outs” (maybe give-away no shows) but there were a lot of people mysteriously missing.

And while I am an old fogey, I’m not one who believes it was better in the old days. We’ve never consistently sold-out, even in the late 70’s, early 80’s when we had good teams.

The Seton Hall crowd was great though. May it start a new trend.

That comes nowhere close to “well more than 1500 empty seats” my friend. NOWHERE CLOSE.

I think because we’ve heard reports that tix are almost gone and then there are thousands of empty seats like the Wisconsin game. I thought I read “somewhere” that only 500 tix were left for Wisconsin and then the place was half full. And people suspect that a lot of tix are “sold/given” to secondary market sellers like Stub Hub that remain unused yet ScarletKnights.com or the ticket office shows no or few available seats.

I think attendance was around 6k so close to the announced but yeah someone was going around saying the Wisky game was close to a sellout and that was just plain wrong. RU is in bed with stubhub I believe that. Student attendance during break is usually very poor so until I see results from them I see the section being a mix of non students and students

there really isnt much psu hoops presence

Remember the last time we played them during the week, while school was out and they were playing well? There was huge contingent of asswipe Jersey kids who go to school in Crappy Valley and were home for break.

PSU started B1G play 0-10 last year and with a similar record to us overall and have similar wins this year and are all of a sudden ranked. Must be nice to be a football blue blood which carries weight in every other sport

Wow, name calling, you’re that confident. Check back in on 1/8 following a crowd of 5800. I say that based on 40 years of RAC experience. Unfortunately there is no chance we come close to a sellout that night.
That 5800 also includes PSU fans who will be home in NJ between semesters.

They deserve to be ranked currently. Who cares about last year?

I love it. Debating among ourselves if a game three weeks away will be a sell out. Win and they will come. We have two important games first. Let's finish the year strong, then worry about starting the new year strong.

1984 is correct in his comments.

When will we learn to TAKE ONE GAME AT A TIME? Lafayette and Nebraska are no gimmees. Both could be very tough. We count our chickens and if we should lose a game this board will go bonkers again.

As of today it would likely be RU -3 but that could change before then.

PSU currently ranked 23rd in the nation, and look to win the next two out of confrence games and then Iowa at home

Could be 12-2 and ranked 18-20th

If we take care of business ...we will be 11-3

Setting up to be a potential big game

Time to pack the RAC again

As I predicted 2 plus weeks ago ...gojng to be a huge game
