Mac Mclung

Wow LOL board rules prohibit from attacking posters and from stating opinions that question the MODS in any way. My post was deleted and no one was insulted just an honest opinion awesome.

McLung would have problems against B1G guards. Sorry people but we need Carter and McConnell more than we do an undersized guard who lit up Arkansas Little Rock

I just checked his stats. Going into today he was averaging 10 Ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.6 apg, and 20% from three. What am I missing? Size wise, he’s also the exact opposite in what we are looking for in a guard

Just for more context:

1. Hoyas haven’t played anyone yet.
2. McClung shooting under 40% overall and around 20% 3PT.
3. Doesn’t really rebound.
4. Doesn’t really get assists.

Good job scoring 38 points but let’s not get carried away here again.

If accounts are right there is a #5 that, to me, trumps #1 thru #4

I am rooting for McClung to thrive and do well....i am not sure he would be the long term PG anywhere but he is what Georgetown needs right now, someone who can get points in an up and down setting. He is playing the off guard position with prized PG Akinjo running the point.

I think once conference play starts, we will have a better gauge for whether the 38 is a preview of more to come.

On the same day where McConnell and Carter bail out RU from a hideous effort on offense, it would make sense for McClung and 38 points to come up here, IF RU didn't have McConnell or Mulcahy and Young arriving for 2019.

We have fans skeptical about Young getting 26 in a Big 12 tournament game and 3 or 4 page threads about whether Mulcahy can play....or whether Shaq Carter is important when Shaq Doorson and Myles Johnson aren't capable of 13 points in a game right now on limited opportunities.

There's only one ball folks and only so many shot attempts and points to score in a leagie like the B1G and the schedule RU plays. Give McClung props for a monster game, but if he gets 38+ later this year vs someone relevant, i will pay closer attention.

Keep pretending like I give a **** that this kid beat up on little rock. I have to question the basketball knowledge of anyone who is whining about performances like these. This kid would get his freaking ass beat up and down the court in the big ten. It's hilarious that people are stupid enough to think otherwise. I see 4-6 ppg on our team..max. whoop dee ****ing Doo.

The big ten? We struggled with Columbia.

Wake me up when Georgetown is a NCAA tournament team and McClung is a part of it.

Not saying it won’t happen.

You are what you bring (and detract) from a team over a 32+ game season

We had him we lost him we could use him. Good night now.
----
first, we might have lost him no matter how hard we tried to keep him.....reports are he did not mesh
well with the team, and I don't think there is anything Pike could have done if that was the issue....a player must be totally comfortable with his teammates.

2nd..... at the time it seemed like we were trading spots, MacMclung for Shaq Carter, due to the close timing of the decommit to the commit...

for that reason, I would not match his usefulness
against our guards, but how much would he have helped us versus Carter......Carter seems to be a valuable piece for us, which began a few games ago....

at the time of the decommit, it did seem we were more in need of a quality big man..... we had Carter waiting for a firm offer, and no spot to give him.....

and we have what appears to be quick, quality guard ready to be added next year, one who many think will possibly be a starter, or near that, and another highly thought of guard coming in

Mulchay over McClung. Seems like an easy choice.

actually I was thinking Young might be more college game ready.... reportedly the quickest
player in practice. either way, we should be in very good shape at guard

Georgetown will likely be the second worst team in the BE this year. When bigger guards start facing him it’s gonna get tougher. He has talent but not a program changer.

I wonder who he didn’t get along with.
---
someone said that he thought the basketball work ethic was lacking here.....he wanted to practice a lot and our players were more interested in socializing at that particular time.....I have no way of knowing if this was accurate...
