I am trying to be optimistic about Ash but he is making it challenging.
So here is the question of the day we go from Pro set to the spread and 2 WRs drop Rutgers for two inferior academic and athletic (football wise) that also run a spread. What was Ash selling that the WR did not want surely not getting more catches in the spread.

Wide reciever talent on the roster as of today is almost Mac level. Ash, I can only pray learned alot these last three weeks how Jersey recruiting works and will make the needed adjustments,additions with the staff.This left a big question mark about Ash in my mind.. Next year will really be telling..no more two stars and kids with div1aa offers please.
Maybe those 2 kids didn't want to play ST's to earn their stripes and, if so, I'm more than fine with them going elsewhere.
Would you have been cool with one of OSU's top commits doing the same to Rutgers? Would that tell you enough about them to say you wouldnt want them?
This is bizarre. There are like 2 or 3 BCS programs that we can definitely "look down" on....Indiana and Colorado, for sure, maybe Wake and Vandy although they have great academics to recruit with. I just don't get it.

I guess Mack can Join,Wright and Harmon,along with three other Wr's this staff couldnt land.
Can't get inside his head - so can't know his thinking - - but some talented kids have a internal sense of where they fit - they may want to play & are talented - but they can gauge whether or not they will see the field in a given program .... and sometimes, if they identify a program where they feel that they are a match - - and then there is a coaching change - and the new coaching staff has higher credentials and is communicating that they are determined to dramatically elevate the program .... they start to sense that their time on the field - might be modest at first and then almost non existent - as the staff recruits over them.
Ash is looking for talented guy WITH TENACITY - ones who like look at this kind of situation & say "so ?" bring in whoever you want ... you are still going to want me on the field because I will prevail - I will put catch, run, hit as well or better than whoever you put me up against.

Indiana wants me, lord I cant go back there. Something lured him there, playing close to home wasn't enough of a draw to him to come here. No one recruit in my mind is worth getting upset about losing. Time will tell if this was a result of a new staff or they have trouble recruiting. My bet is on Ash and staff for the future.
Yeah imagine this our 1st and 2nd team guys are upper-classmen: Grant, Tsimis, Patton, Agudoz and Mathews. Absolute "position-of-need" for 2017 class.. Fill it up next year and we'll be fine (especially if you can get a transfer/juco or two).
First off I didn't say a word about the kid's "character" so, please, don't put words in my mouth. Second, if Ash were the HC here, and the kid said "I don't want to play ST's to earn time on O," then he wouldn't be flipping here regardless of where it was from so, again, stupid question IMHO.
And you can always be banned again and have to come back as yet another "character".
This isn't rocket science. Mack visited last weekend. While details are not specifically known, it is known that there were some behavioral irregularities. It is strongly believed, but not confirmed, that some offers were pulled as a result.
You can choose to believe that Ash couldn't close a kid who cancelled a PSU visit to come to RU. Or you can choose to understand that there may be an alternate explanation for why he suddenly flipped to the worst team in the conference.

I'm talking purely football success. There are a bunch of schools I would consider peers or near peers...only a few I would say clearly beneath us atm.
Yes, but that's NOT the case at every school - and in this program where it's not both, it's "earn" your playing time on O or D - so maybe I'm right, or wrong, just throwing it out there about a few kids who left for elsewhere.

Maybe it's Ash can't recruit, has no persona, has not NJ ties, has no RU ties. Hired a staff full of NO NJ ties. The only kids we are getting have no D1 offers.
Year there is a behavioral issue and it is with Ash, his staff and people like you that can't see the disaster that Ash had created in 2 months.

The fact he did not pull back from his previous RU commit is the issue; I had no problem with Wright as he pull back after spending a weekend with Ash and said no thanks

I understand Flood vs. Ash as coaches go are like day and night.
Hell if I was a kid I know I could coast on Flood (see barnwell he coasted and shit on Flood) and enjoy 4 years under him
As for all the decommits. it is too high just to be a different coach but more an upheaval in how thing will be done here i.e. fight of flight.
So let's not be too disappointed in all the lost talent (it was not that big anyway, only the kicker, Russo and Rene, 3 losses) the rest are replaceable and a few pickups have been an upgrade take the kid from Tx maybe a mack match (TBD) he got the speed
1 Oden will ~= Russo as he is better suited for the new O, Rene hell with the Michigan corner/RB with 2 year of eligibility and he is ready to play now. This is actually an up grade short term.
Yes for what should have been an coaching upgrade I would have expected less decommits and more schiano type surpises.
But I will be honest I do not recall schiano first (2 mont ) recruiting class being anything to write home about.
