Mack flips to Indiana, Bah to Rutgers

And you can always be banned again and have to come back as yet another "character".

This isn't rocket science. Mack visited last weekend. While details are not specifically known, it is known that there were some behavioral irregularities. It is strongly believed, but not confirmed, that some offers were pulled as a result.

You can choose to believe that Ash couldn't close a kid who cancelled a PSU visit to come to RU. Or you can choose to understand that there may be an alternate explanation for why he suddenly flipped to the worst team in the conference.
Rutgers wanted him his offer was not pulled.

Every freshman is expected to play special teams. I think he just likes Indiana better than Rutgers as a school/campus.

Disagree - he has been committed to RU for awhile. He has a sister enrolled at RU. However, I wonder if he "clicked" with his position coach...

Another thing to consider is Wilson has created an O at Indiana that his shown it can score on anyone in the B1G. Mehringer still has to prove himself as B1G OC. IMO these may have been some of the thoughts running through Mack's head.

This is bizarre. There are like 2 or 3 BCS programs that we can definitely "look down" on....Indiana and Colorado, for sure, maybe Wake and Vandy although they have great academics to recruit with. I just don't get it.

Indiana went to a bowl game, RU didn't and need some ridiculous miracle to beat them. Colorado has more history and winning than RU could ever dream of.

I certainly would put Indiana on par with RU in academics and it has a beautiful campus--one of the best in the BIG. Nice clean safe college town too. Same for Colorado.

Rutgers has more history than Indiana. Colorado is horrible. Like, really horrible.

I would concur that you all can look down on us....last year was a very difficult loss for us. But our program is clearly heading in the right direction. We are excited to get a playmaker like Mack and thrilled about the direction of the IU program. Best of luck to you all! Cheers!

Wide reciever talent on the roster as of today is almost Mac level. Ash, I can only pray learned alot these last three weeks how Jersey recruiting works and will make the needed adjustments, additions with the staff. This left a big question mark about Ash in my mind.. Next year will really be telling..no more two stars and kids with div1aa offers please.

Uh, I'm disappointed at the wrs that flipped on us, particularly to go instead to Indiana and Temple. I can't help laughing. I mean how can we possibly compete with what those two schools have to offer ?
But both Isaiah Wright and Taysir Mack as per this site were 3-star recruits rated at 5.6.
Janarion Grant, Andre Patton, and Carlton Agudosi were all 3-star recruits rated here 5.7.

Reality check. We've got a completely new, untested coaching staff that's putting in a new offensive and defensive system. That creates uncertainty. Huge amounts of uncertainty. Recruits don't like uncertainty. So we've got a lot of decommits and many players that have chosen Rutgers didn't have many better options. That's to be expected. We didn't have to go through this when Schiano left because the main reason for keeping Flood was to keep the class together. And he did that, and kept all of the systems the way they were. Which turned out to be a short term victory and a long term defeat. Now we're trying the other tack. Short term our recruiting is taking a beating. But that's the price to pay for changing a program's direction. Ash's job now is to win. And this isn't going to happen overnight. This upcoming season will probably be brutal. If Ash can gradually increase the team's success, recruiting improves. If not it doesn't. Think about it, would you trust your kid to a completely untested staff taking over a program with a losing record when you had other choices available? Ash needs to build credibility on the field and with recruits individually. It will happen. But not overnight.

As they say in the UK We are proper F'd.How is that south African kid working out from the class of 14?

A year from today, Rutgers will have a great 2017 class.

Ash and his staff will be relentless recruiters.

My favorite part of his press conference was when one of the reporters (use that term loosely) asked about his aggressive recruiting of verbals to other schools. He said that the report might call that aggressive recruiting. He just calls it recruiting.

It is a shame to lose what we might imagine that Isaiah Wright and Taysir Mack could possibly be .
But - nobody is a sure thing - nobody is so astoundingly superb that their performance is guaranteed - their value was going to be found in the way that they worked and achieved in the new system that Ash & Co are installing - and if they were willing to work with the previous system - but now chose not to want to be apart of the new ... It begins to be clear like they were not going to live up to what we might imagine that they could be.

That is completely dependent on how we perform next year. if we have another 4-8 season next year or worse I wouldn't get my hopes up. Legit we have 1 gimme game next year, Howard, THAT'S IT. New Mexico is waay better than Kansas and Washington is waaay better than Army...

I'm not joking when I say we have a good chance of going 2-10 next year...

Seriously, why do people suggest we should "look down" on anyone? We had one "really good" season and a whole lot of no accomplishments before and after. We should look down on no one.

Colorado is less than 30 years removed from an NC and had a slew of BCS bowl appearances, with some wins, in the decade+ that followed that title. We haven't had anything close to that level of success in our entire history. Yeah, they suck now, but so do we - and we've done a whole lot more sucking in our history. From what I watched of them, CO actually looked better than we did last season - terrible record, but it made a game out of USC, UCLA and Utah, which is more than we can say about our top competition.

Our history of looking down on other teams while having absolutely nothing to back it up is why it's so easy for outsiders to despise RU fans.

It's just perception. Fans always think higher of their teams than they actually are... look no further than PSU.

I mean from a strictly football standpoint, we're about even with Indiana, but from an athletic's perspective, it's not even close Indiana is far better

Right. I mean why would a WR want to play for 1 of the best offenses in the country? Not to mention turning down a world renowned(in New Jersey)Rutgers degree & a train wreck of an athletic department. What's wrong with this kid?

Its one of the biggest reasons

Beats me but he verbaled to the great Flood and was supposedly content....but CA ain't from a real bigtime winner..

Maybe those 2 kids didn't want to play ST's to earn their stripes and, if so, I'm more than fine with them going elsewhere.
This...and Ash promises that S&C will be like Seal Team 6 training. You will be fine tuned athletic machine with precision, energy and focus...or you will not be on this team. Period!

Good luck we may be confident but most respect you're progress...you guys are definitely improved and moving up the chain.

Because why should we lie and say the kid had his offer pulled, it's not the truth. If you like lying we should just lie and claim the problems under Flood weren't that bad either, but they were and as fans we should accept that.
thats exactly what i believe...but WHY tell the rest of those who wish us the worst...being a fan means supporting your agenda sometimes...i joined the Corps in 69 but DID NOT BELIEVE WE BELONGED THERE..''Viet Nam''

Don't think its right to imply that a kid has character issues if he is actually an upstanding young man. We always make fun of the Penn State Fans when they claim they pulled an offer or never offered a kid, we would be hypocrites if we did the same, and it's wrong to not correct an assertion that a 17 year old did something wrong on an official visit or has character concerns when he does not, think if it was your son.

So WTF are you even disagreeing with?

Our fans yapping about how "superior" we are to other programs doesn't do us any favors.

Instead of responding twice this time, try making sense once.
