Maddeningly bad play down the stretch

This game was lost on the defensive end when they scored 42 points in the second half

They got into a real good rhythm.

The only thing I might have done is throw a press or zone on them for 2 minutes at some point there to get them out of that rhythm

Maybe right at this moment. But you can see the potential of some of these younger guys who will be able to put the ball in the basket

This is a much stronger offensive team, imo, than last year and will only improve as these kids grow each year
I don't agree that this team is much stronger offensively than last year because Sanders , Freeman , Williams and Sa put 30 points on the scoreboard which hasn't been replaced by the new players this season.

I realize this season is a smaller sample size but we just played 2 of the tougher Big Ten teams

PPG/FG%
Omoruyi - 15.4 53%
Baker - 14.6 53%
Kiss - 10.1 52%

Last year stats
Sanders - 15.2 42%
Freeman - 11.1 41%
Williams - 8.3. (Couldn’t find %)

Who knows how rest of season plays out but I think it’s quite obvious this team is better balanced offensively with who can score and ability to actually shoot.

Yea Sanders and Freeman scored 26 a game last year but do you realize how many shots they had to take to do that.

Don't you have your own board for this? Or are you just a douche?

[laughing] His other post was a reply to me, as apparently he thinks I'm a turd. I said back in June the West would suck and their best team would be 4th in the East. Turns out I was right.

Last year we scored 0.87 points per possession in conference play.

Against MSU and Wisconsin we scored 1.03.

wasn't aware we broke 1.00 against MSU too. Last year we were 1-17, this year we are 2-0. It hasn't translated in to wins..............YET..............but it will if it continues.

2 games is not a large sample size, but I am ready to call we are better.

Need to be shooting mid 30's from 3 to beat the better teams and in the Big Ten this year that covers a bunch of teams.

It's an extra 6-9 points a game which is huge in tight games and it opens things up a bit for better shots inside.

The team is going to see nothing but zone going forward if this aspect of the game doesn't improve.

The foul disparity has been with us for years. It is the longest running conspiracy in college sports. Worthy of an ESPN channel’s version of 60 Minutes or Dateline or Unsolved Mysteries. Or Twilight Zone.

Carino noted on Twitter that he cuts and pastes the same article regarding RU getting screwed by refs mid-January every year

Do some college teams practice with refs present, occasionally? At one of our intra-squad scrimmages, both sides could whine about the officiating. During real games, I always get the impression that opposing coaches get more “ear time” from refs than our coaches do.
