Mag

on O why is he always in a corner at the 3pt line instead underneath banging like a 4
Because hes hes not a 4 for starters and we dont like most teams clog up the paint with 2 guys. If anything Andre has the body type for that.

That said we have not seen him slash and cut as much recently. I think hes nursing something from Nebraska thats impacting him offensively.

He’s showing you exactly what he is… Offensively cant shoot very well, nor handle, sloppy with the ball, but good energetic on ball defender. Role player, NOT a starter. Start Gavin, with Hyatt at 4.

lol two bad games and now Mag is a bench player. One of the best one-ball defenders in the conference, maybe second best wing defender behind Coleman Hawkins. Sure not the best offensive player, but plays within himself and is capable of getting us 10-12 most nights

Agree 100%. Sad you have to state the obvious to a guy who knows nothing and proves it repeatedly.

Isn’t he the guy who said Dean should the one starting at the 4 last year? Maybe we can bring him back from Charlotte. He’s only averaging 18 minutes over there and giving them 3 or so points so I doubt they will mind.

Mag's career stats
FR(20-21) rim 5-5 mid 4-8 3pt 1-3
SO(21-22) rim 16-28 mid 11-30 3pt 4-17
JR(22-23) rim 40-59 mid 18-45 3pt 9-30
B4 injury rim 61-92 66.3% mid 33-83 39.8% 14-50 28.0%

From 6-4 to 16-7 in 22-23
(10-3 B4 inj) rim 24-32 75% mid 10-27 37.0% 3pt 5-14 35.7%
And lockdown defender along side Caleb.

23-24 rim 11-28 39.3% mid 17-41 41.5% 3pt 10-36 27.6%

I think he is struggling to get that lift and explosion he had before the ACL tear where we reached #12 in the NET at one point in 22-23. He might never get it back or hopefully in 24-25.

Mag has had less bad games than anyone else this season. 2 in a row is not ideal obviously but players do slump. He also did twist his ankle and maybe that plus a lot of minutes on his recovering knee is slowing him down a bit

You can't bench him even if you wanted to. There's no one behind him due to sub par recruiting.

However, Dean might be our back up 5 over Woolf.

Mag starts and is the glue guy that always does more to help than what shows up on the stat sheet.

Sure, he’s had two bad games in a row (50 minutes, 2 points, 3 rebounds, 5 turnovers) and despite that he’s as steady as a rock in terms of defensive effort, leadership, and overall performance.

Unless he’s hurt he has to start and play significant minutes.

No question. But nobody said that wasn’t possible last year either. The point is he was never going to play the 4 over Mag or Hyatt on a roster with big guards like Paul and Caleb.
