Matt Bullock is interested in Rutgers

The only reason for considering Bullock would be if you thought it would open a pipeline to other more highly rated and recruited Roselle Carholic kids. Otherwise he looks like a reach me we have a class full of them already.

Whatever.....never heard of anyone questioning IQ of a player for a suspension.

If it's for doing the same thing again and he got suspended for it the first time, shouldn't you question his IQ? And for you to insinuate a poster was being racist for questioning IQ, that's horrible on your part.

No disrespect, but, I'll take the word of Rivals recruiting analyst Russ Wood over your " beliefs". He is the one who mentioned it. I think he knows a few more things about recruiting.
'
"CONTINGENT ON PREPPING" doesn't mean a thing. It's no better or worse than a "verbal" commit before signing day. They might offer one if he preps BUT they might not. Happens ALL the time.

this thread is funny, this board destroys Jordan for getting Dailey (a guy with heavy interest from several Big 10 schools for 2017), but then destroys him again for not going hard after a guy with this offer list.......

Wagner, Robert Morris, Fairleigh Dickinson, Davidson, and San Francisco are the schools currently recruiting Bullock, though Rutgers, Monmouth, Rider and Binghamton offered him previously.

It's getting real silly....if he committed 2 months ago this board would go Nuts and post his offer list over and over again.

I think you're missing the point: he's a local kid who WANTS to play for us, badly, and we're completely ignoring him? Do you realize how ridiculous that is? He's EXACTLY the kind of guy we won't offer, will go to Monmouth, will be ALL-Conference for 3 years, and beat us 2 or 3 times.

If Jahlil Tripp who hasn't played In over a year is worthy of a scholarship, so is Bullock

Just add him to the list of Local NJ guys we let go to low/Mid Majors without us expressing much interest .....Amir Bell, Marques Townes, Otis Livingston, Jameel Warney, Karl Charles, Kevin Ferguson, Justin Sears, Damon Lynn...any of these players are a lot better than half of our roster right now

if we aren't too scared to play Monmouth

so now the typical accusation from a poster is whether a person has "smarts" or a high enough IQ when no one knows what really transpired--yes isn't it ?refreshing? how easily one attacks--especially from someone who again and again does what he says he never does--talk is so cheap -and who's praising a player for being suspended? what's not being done by most is attacking the player --we can't we fire sanders ,wait that's the poster's answer to all problems RU

Maybe the next staff offers and after we have a few transfers

End of the day, this is like worrying about the last roster spot on the NBA roster.

We have massive issues and one local recruit isn't going to save us.

Jahlil Tripped played for Sports U
Aleem Ford is from NJ and played for Sports U

There are other locals besides Bullock to consider but because Nj.com did a story people who don't follow recruiting are up in arms.

If you were considered a good get for NEC of course you would want to play for Rutgers in the Big Ten.

Bullock is a great HS player - productive, strong and a winner so no disrespect.

But just because he wants to play here doesn't mean you take him if he's not going to contribute. He would be doing himself a disservice by playing at the wrong level don't you think?

Just like when ray salnave chose Monmouth and people bitched about it. Most scouts as well as beat reporter Josh Newman said it was the right level for himl and Rutgers had to do better.

Bullock could work out and he could not. But to start a huge thread about how this is some unjustice and another black mark for Rutgers it's just hyperbole.

Bullock is playing with a roster full of high level division 1 recruits in their own right and he's an underside tweener who could excel in a conference like the A10 or Big East or at Monmouth.

Remember when losing Matt Farrell to ND was a "huge loss" around these parts?

66....that IQ comment was idiotic. A reasonable person would realize it and post a retraction.

My question...does he have a standing offer to play for RU? I assume he had one at some point, but no longer does.

If the beef is not keeping in touch with Bullock that that's another thing. And it's recruiting, everyone knows how it works and there should be no hard feelings if a staff stops recruiting you.

Exactly. I see it as an opportunity to knock Jordan (totally fair maybe not this case padticuLarly) and a way to boost Bullock's stock with some ink in the local paper

Wagner is showing a lot of interest. So, you know. A really good scout said he's a good get for NEC program.

Alem Ford on the other hand wants to visit Rutgers, is 6-foot-8, has local ties and has offers and interest from Big East, SEC and A10. With sanders Nigel and Williams plus the 2016 verbal commits do we need Bullock opposed to a big face up 4/wing like Ford? Probably not

If Matt comes to RU he will be bashed for not being a P-5 player and the HC knocked for recruiting him.
Don't think for a second that being a local kid that wants to play for RU will mean anything when he's put on the roster and how each player is playing is the subject being discussed.
This is just another way to make Jordan look incompetent at recruiting and if Eddie went hot and heavy after Bullock Jordan would be criticized for going after him instead of trying to get (incert name) instead.
Whether Jordan can recruit or not might not really matter in this case, some just look for reasons to complain, valid or not.

Seems like the curve changes grading Jordan's recruiting ability according how he can be put down over the way he is recruiting someone.
If the NJ HS kid doesn't have offers besides RU , Jordan is knocked on the type of recruit he goes after.
But if Eddie doesn't go after a lightly recruited HS player from Jersey, all hell breaks loose because Jordan didn't move heaven and earth to get him.

The issue is going to be Bullock vs. guys who already gave us commitments.

With Bullock he is in our backyard so we should be able to see him more and get to know what type of person he is. The other guys we don't have that luxury. In a perfect world we recruit locally....but the world is not perfect.

But It's not football where you can talk preferred walk ons and have many more scholarships to give to local recruits.

If the argument is Tripp and Dailey vs bullock I think it's pretty silly considering our standing with NJ programs won't change with this one recruit (IMO) and eddies on the hot seat.

No one of this matters is what I'm trying to say lol

The issues surrounding Rutgers is money. And how much to spend on and off the court.

Also no ones taking into account just how bad Rutgers has been at developing players:

We just don't know whether these great under the radar players from NJ's past would have fared had they signed to Rutgers.

So you just stop communicating with the kid? No, sorry, that's not an acceptable way to do business at THIS point, for THIS program, IMHO. Same kind of bullshit - of A LOT of bullshit - our former football HC was pulling (even with kids who had committed to him...) At least offer the kid a walk-on slot and find OTHER options to help him finance his way until through school. If the kid is as skilled as he is, and wants to play here, make a f*cking effort, at the very least, to get him here. Not-for-nothing but Eddie isn't exactly bringing in a Top 150 class or anything.

We hired Eddie Jordan, an older NBA HC. This is what we get. No one should be surprised at this point that he's not a great recruiter.

Just like the guy who suggested Patrick Ewing. Dumb decision makers get the results they deserve

Can't argue with that lol!

whos attacking him, I just said he lack the smarts/iq, maturity, and discipline which is all true when you get suspended for 4 games I bet you his coach said the same thing

Being suspended & having a poor IQ do not have any correlation.

Do you think he passes on a full ride to walk on here? It's run like a business. I'm sure he'll get a call if option a and b falls through.

Who knows but at least talk to the kid and, if he can't, then the 2 parties can go their separate ways, right?

actually most reasonable people wouldn't cry racism right away..oh wait

I don't see the word "race" or "racism" in anything I posted....go point it out to me.

I'll save you some time.....here is what I posted.

WOW...making a judgment about his IQ...that's a first....unfukinbelievabilty. That may be the most idiotic thing I have seen anyone post....but, I think I know what point you are trying to make and it is shameful, a disgrace.

At the end of this thread ..... out team still is awful no matter which way we dice it. The last NCAA silver anniversary date is just upon us. UGH. :(

I'd take Ford over Bullock but would take Bullock over Tripp.

But Tripp is here and we only have one spot for now. We take Ford.

Whether or not he can play in the big ten , he is size appropriate really does not enter into the equation.
You have two bigs disabled with the dreaded foot problems and you absolutely need to find a center .
there is one scholarship left and nothing else matters

but where Eddie can really help himself , with me anyway, is if he can find a way to make Goodes scholie available. It doesn't seem to be Rutgers way but you need to remember the are no graduates next year ergo no scholarships

What you get with the last one ( or hopefully two ) ships are what you will live with the next two years

Forget the tweener nonsense. If the kid can ball and have the mental toughness, he can play anywhere. Look at NBA players who didn't get recruited to big time schools: Barkley, Curry, Oakley, Rodman, Dumars, Vinnie Johnson, Ben Wallace, Starks just to name a few. So RU needs to open this pipeline immediately and stop dragging their feet. The young man can flat out play!

What kind of 6 4 player is bullock? Can he play his position and shoot, defend and pass?Is he more of a great rebounder?Rebounding should not be left to the guards. If he can shoot and defend, I like the chances and player.

RC - he starts about the 1:02 mark in vid:
