Well, we did have a one hit wonder at Rutgers. In 1972, Looking Glass, a band formed at Rutgers University had the hit "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" which hit #1 on the Billboard Charts. No , I’m not lost. It’s happening now, we’ll see where it ends up this year., with 4 games left. We will also see where it ends up next year and the year after. Are you suggesting IU is now an ongoing national power? I’m not a Schiano apologist and I think he has 2 years max to show big progress. I just get a kick out of people who take an upstart season and think it translates into sustained success. In the music industry there is this thing called one hit wonders, we will see how it turns out for the Hoosiers.
Thanks for introducing me to Link Wray after rumble I found switchblade, oh that was for RUGuitarManWell, we did have a one hit wonder at Rutgers. In 1972, Looking Glass, a band formed at Rutgers University had the hit "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" which hit #1 on the Billboard Charts.
Lmao no they wouldn't. UConn couldn't beat VT on the road or Washington if their lives depended on it. Even with a bad/injured to hell defense we would stomp a hole in UConn.Even UConn is bowl eligible already. Shit schedule but still. If we played them it would be a pick em.
Considering IU Football history, no one expects IU to be challengers to OSU, UM, Psu, Oregon on a yearly basis. Occasionally, like this year, like Rutgers in ‘06, it’s wonderful being in the chase and that’s why we’re enjoying it so much…never been here before. Undefeated 9 games in will never be the expectation or standard at IU.He has done a great job in year 1. I will absolutely wait to see if this is sustainable (I have my doubts). Sometimes people catch lightening in a bottle. If in 3 or 4 years, it looks like IU is a consistent contender in the B1G , I will concede my inclination was wrong. RU looked like a potential national power in 2006. It didn’t turn out that way and it had to do with the overall reality of competing at a high level year in and year out.
We could put @mildone in charge of the hookers and blow. And the sheep, of course.
By the way, nice try on your thread - would've been interesting (and one would think we could have one such moderated thread here). I see a close win for H, fwiw.
Once again someone says we can be really successful just based on getting NJ high school kids. We cannot be successful without recruiting kids from PA, Ohio, Fla, etc.Could you imagine the success Cignetti would have here at Rutgers with the talent of New Jersey high school football in his backyard.
He would have done what he did at Indiana just as fast at Rutgers. Shame the timing didn’t line up when hiring a new coach.
What Rutgers fan wouldn’t trade for Cignetti right now if given a chance
That was Louisville's model for success a little ways back.Forget the field house ! Let’s just been a “fun” house . Can be like an exclusive , private type gentlemen’s club for top level recruits and good players . Bet you we see more results with that
Especially if you hire the Hawk Tuah girl.Forget the field house ! Let’s just been a “fun” house . Can be like an exclusive , private type gentlemen’s club for top level recruits and good players . Bet you we see more results with that
