Lmao no they wouldn't. UConn couldn't beat VT on the road or Washington if their lives depended on it. Even with a bad/injured to hell defense we would stomp a hole in UConn.

He has done a great job in year 1. I will absolutely wait to see if this is sustainable (I have my doubts). Sometimes people catch lightening in a bottle. If in 3 or 4 years, it looks like IU is a consistent contender in the B1G , I will concede my inclination was wrong. RU looked like a potential national power in 2006. It didn’t turn out that way and it had to do with the overall reality of competing at a high level year in and year out.

Considering IU Football history, no one expects IU to be challengers to OSU, UM, Psu, Oregon on a yearly basis. Occasionally, like this year, like Rutgers in ‘06, it’s wonderful being in the chase and that’s why we’re enjoying it so much…never been here before. Undefeated 9 games in will never be the expectation or standard at IU.

But, if IU has found a coach, and staff, who in the future can consistently win 8 games/season, go to bowl games regularly, then it’s still a major upgrade over where we’ve been. IF IU became what Iowa or Wisconsin has become over the last 30 years, that’s a more realistic comp.

Even if Cig departs, he’s now shown it can be done at IU and likely more quality coaches might look at IU as a better destination in the future, who wouldn’t have in the past.

Rick Pitino is down the road at St. John's. If we shared the facility with them, we'd have the best in the region. Pitino has experience in this area.

Could you imagine the success Cignetti would have here at Rutgers with the talent of New Jersey high school football in his backyard.

He would have done what he did at Indiana just as fast at Rutgers. Shame the timing didn’t line up when hiring a new coach.

Once again someone says we can be really successful just based on getting NJ high school kids. We cannot be successful without recruiting kids from PA, Ohio, Fla, etc.
