Michael Dwumfour flipped from Penn St. to Michigan

5 NJ players to michigan makes me sick.
Obviously, I don't have the emotional connection to this that a Rutgers fan does, but this is pretty amazing, that they would get five kids from Jersey, and very good ones, too. I'm ambivalent about it, emotionally, but it is quite unusual.

Who will be forced to decommit from Michigan to make room?

Does this have more to do with Jim Harbaugh or Chris Partridge?

Partridge is quite chipper on Twitter today:

Can't beat an old classic from a New Jersey legend. I took a flight to Michigan last year and haven't looked back! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmQq6yLe2ww…

It's not over yet. Fuller and Gary likely headed with possibly another NJ WR.
So Michigan is going to sign FIVE WRs?

Will Harbaugh let them all tryout in summer camp before he cuts three, or do those three get cut as soon as their buddies (the intended target) sign the LOI?

interesting think they are now at 25 commits (unless some are early enrollees who could count in 2015) and you cant go beyond 25 no matter how many 5th year sr. or transfers you have. Whoever said something about transferring back needs to note it isn't happening from one BIG school to another with the 2 year inter conference sit rule. Really sucks that KF created such a horrible vacuum in recruiting.

I thought all those NJ coaches hated Partridge. Wasn't that one of the reasons we should have not hired him?
It seems to me that in the past ten years, the influence of the high school coach has been diminished significantly. With the internet and especially with social media, the coaches and recruiters are able to work much more directly on the kids, with the gatekeeping coaches left out of the process.

All secret commits to Rutgers who flip at the last minute to put the screws to Michigan/Partridge/Harbaugh. They witnessed the joy here in Piscataway when Rutgers beat Michigan. They could all be difference-makers here. If not, they might be getting more than the $600K split by the last Fab Five at Ann Arbor.

This is cyclical. Anybody who tells you anything different is lying. I remember all those Jersey recruits who went to Michigan - Fitzgerald, Brandon Smith, etc. Where are they all now?

As far as Partridge is concerned, there is doing your job and then there is burning bridges. He is burning his bridges here in NJ and it will materialize starting next year - just watch. What comes around goes around. Unethical people will get theirs one day.

And for Harbough - I'm tellin ya, his MO is turn a team around, tease their fans by bringing them close to the promise land and then the schtick wears thin and it snow balls back down. In the end everybody ends up hating him. In the Super Bowl, his own mother rooted for his brother - kinda tells you about Jimbo in a nutshell. Also, before he left the Niners he told folks his ultimate desire is to win a Super Bowl. So, don't be surprised if Michigan is just a temporary stomping ground for him. By that time, Partridge will be somewhere collecting unemployment.

I'm sure there are early enrollees. Almost all schools have at least a few. And they only had 13 commits last year so they can definitely count a few from this years class towards last year if they enroll early.

How many EE? That's locked in already. It should be publicly available info.

...just checked and it's SEVEN. Yeah, so that's a lot.

It's kind of funny looking at the Michigan commit list. All of the higher ranked guys have a 2 or 3 star from the same high school committed.

Decent chance that Michigan loses at least three commits to flips.

3-star DT Rashad Weaver out of Fort Lauderdale, FL might flip to Temple

4-star DT Jordan Elliott out of Houston might flip to Texas

4-star OG/DT Michael Onwenu out of Detroit might flip to Michigan State (Harbaugh has Onwenu recruited as an OG, but Dantonio extended a recent offer on Jan 18 to Onwenu as a DT)

from a Gary/MD standpoint nothing to do with CP...if anything he was a negative that

What I read is that they have quite a number of early enrollee's who will count to 2015's class. Seven if I recall correctly.

Also, my understanding about the transfer rule is not that they have to sit 2 years. Only that the year they sit is charged as a year of eligibility. For instance, if a player finished his freshman year at Michigan and decided to transfer back to Rutgers, he would have to sit a year and then only have 2 seasons of eligibility left, not 3.

Michigan only had 16 commits last year. So they easily were able to have all of this year's EE's count towards that class. So take that off of the 25. Then there is one kid who they told a long time ago that his offer is a greyshirt and he accepted it. Then there a 3 kids who look like they may flip to other schools. One is a 4* who will probably flip to Texas and another who just got what he called his "dream offer" from Notre Dame. I forget the other one off the top of my head. So when you take all that off of their current 25 you can see how they can get more kids by signing day. Remember also that the whole kids not coming back for their 5th year deal doesn't open up spots for a recruiting class of 25. That only opens up spots for the total 85 allowed. Also, since Michigan is maxing out this class, next year they won't be able to do this. there won't be any room for those EE's to fit into this class so they will all have to be under the 25 spot 2017 class.

Kids do it to coaches and coaches do it to kids

A commitment must be binding on both sides - this whole process is nonsense

This whole last minute decommitment from both the college and the players is getting cringeworthy. I hope there are so changes soon, perhaps an early signing period. It would end the process for some recruits and also give them a better feel for how the coaching staff views them.

Weaver, obviously gone. Elliott looks like a goner. Nate Johnson looks like a goner. Onwenu isn't going anywhere. Dytarious Johnson is going to be gone too for academic reasons. But people will go nuts when he decommits. Why listening to the truth on that one when we got a good ol' firestorm going.
