The big off-season topic was how we would replace Harper and Geo points. I thought it would mostly be Spencer and increased points, primarily from Cliff, Mulcahy and Hyatt.

Harper - 15.8
Geo - 12.6
Total:. 28.4 Points per game.

Last Year Team: 68.5 ppg.

This Year Team : 71.1 ppg

BIG Games only:

Last Year: 66.8 Points per game.

This Year: 66.6 Points per game : Thru 6 games only.

Obviously, team defense is much better this year.

Change in PPG this year. All Games.

Spencer: + 13.5
Cliff: +1.5
Hyatt: +6
Mag: +4
McConnell: +2.7
Mulcahy: -.8
Simpson: +7
Woolfolk: +3

I was wrong about Reiber. I thought he was due for a jump. I guessed +4 or +5.

It's never replacing PPG.....(I know you know this, just adding to the post).

It's replacing shots per game.

It's reducing turnovers per game.

It's the increase in FT shooting percentage.

It's also about shot selection moreso than the players itself.

My comments were not meant to be a deep dive in advanced stats and analytics.

Just some quick Raw numbers for a quick comparison.

Another key preseason question was, who would be the go-to guy in clutch/game winning situations. So far, the answer is Cam Spencer.

Loved Geo but this team was always so much better with him off the ball.

He was a good player but we really took off last year when Paul ran the show and geo was more of a 2 guard.

It’s amazing to me to see that Paul is the only guy who’s actually scoring less, because I feel like he’s the guy who’s stepped up his game the most in their absence.
