Another one to look at I guess? Not even worth mentioning names because who knows what kind of shot we would have? Illinois top scoring guard also announced he's leaving with two years of eligibility left. I don't think we could get a big 10 kid without having him sit two years and he might be blocked from coming here anyway but again, these are all possibilities?

Maybe Jerry Carino can do some digging on who might be the last kid we take for 2017 and an update on who might be coming in 2018? These are exciting times again at the RAC and we could finally get back on track after such a drought.

Help us Jerry? What do you got??

I have not heard of a kid from Illinois but there was Mikyle McIntosh from Illinois State. He is I believe a 6'7" small forward who averaged 12.5 ppg, 5.6 rebounds a game and shot 35.8% on 3's. I think he decided to put his name into the draft but than he just pulled out within the last few days. If this is true he is available now. He would be an immediately eligible grad student.

No, this other kid just announced today from Illinois. He's a sharp shooter who was Croces highest rated recruit at Illinois. It was a surprise announcement. The kid is very good.

Bowl, I just read about the guy, Jalen Coleman Lands. He played 2 years averaging 10.3 ppg as a freshman and 8 ppg this past season as a soph. He is a 6'3" guard who would have to sit another year before playing. I myself would prefer a grad transfer who could play immediately so it isn't my decision but I would prefer McIntosh if he was available. I do trust Coach Pikiell and I think he will make a wise choice. Supposedly we are still involved with Vance Jackson too who only played one year at Connecticut. He has visited RU and Washington and I think he will visit Baylor yet and maybe San Diego State. I think whoever we get for the last spot might not be finalized for a while but that is just a guess by me.

Unless your a consistent Top 25 team with consistent Top 25 recruiting classes I would bring in a grad transfer every year.

To me it's similar to Free Agency in the NFL or NBA and who doesn't participate in that ?

He can supposedly hit the three ball. I think we shut him down for a while but he had some good games. I just don't know if you leave Illinois for another big 10 school? But we have Williams leaving next year and probably Corey I would bet. I think Jalen is different type player than Vance although I would take both of them. I would say it would be nice to get guys who can be here for 4 years and develop them as freshmen but it also can't hurt to mix in a few experienced players you know can knock it down under intense defensive pressure. Finding the right ingredients and players who can gel is also going to be a challenge but you are correct. I trust in Steve. We don't know which recruits we end up with until they sign? There's a lot of great players available for 2018 but then again there are also spots we can fill in 2019 and 2020 if we find guys who sit one to play 2 or 3. The one kid I think who is really underrated is Peter Kiss. That kid may open up eyes in the Big 10 and if we get some talent around him, he's going to score a lot of points. Plus he plays defense.
