Mason Everly from Brother Rice in Michigan. @Golfer2019 could shed more light on him if he was so inclined. Looks tough and athletic in his video. Plays on a really good club team and high school. Highlights are a year old, which always amazes me- how much these kids advance in short spaces of time, physically and skill wise.

Not too many slow guys on the Rutgers squad, unless they have very specialized skill set.

That pretty much goes for every D1 team. I am amazed at the level these kids play at now. Part of it is the equipment and part of it is the training and strategy is just much more advanced.

I would like to see them use some old equipment though. We had some good teams while I was there. It's an interesting hypothetical to consider playing the two squads, then and now.

What are the plans for FOGO?

Any chance we get a 2020 guy (frosh or transfer)?

@Caliknight So I am very familiar with Mason...don't know him personally...my younger son however has had some battles with him...

My sons play (or played) for DCC (Detroit Catholic Central)....they are biter rivals with Brother Rice...

Mason plays for the same club teams as Brennan and Joey (my sons)....Juiced Cherries

He's a big physical kid, his trajectory has been on the upward move and I think he's a very good prospect...I really can't offer much more...I've seen him play love two times this year and he's very good...

Rice has three very high level poles...

Everly and Crosby - both coming to Rutgers (Crosby next year)

Donaldson who is an UA All American and he's going to GTown...he's the one that has to check my younger son in these games...

I'm very high on both Crosby (2019) and Everly (2020)...

State semis are tomrrow night here...with any luck...I will see Mason again on Saturday...which would mark the 6th stratight Rice v DCC state title game

Thanks, M. Everly looks like one of those kids you just don't want to go against. Reminds me of a high school version of a guy I played with lol. Kid Crosby has a crazy stick. Will be interesting to see how that translates at the next level.

We also landed another fogo for 2020. Matt Brock from PA. His tape looks good. I like athletic fogo's, and he looks athletic.

Cali, I don’t know if you know the answer to this and I haven’t seen many details about the Rodkin Center, but with two lacrosse teams and two soccer teams using, how many weight rooms will be there? Is it one, two, or four? Is weight training that important in lacrosse as compared to other sports? Or is almost solely drills which give players the edge?

I believe there is going to be one, which is doable for four teams. Only two play in the same season at a time. The offseason is when you are in the weight room the most.

Weight training, like every other sport, is extremely important in lacrosse. The team spends a ton of time doing it, especially in the fall. It's almost all they do. You can argue fitness training is more important than skills training now.

One of the FOGO's from DCC here in Michigan Is committed to Rutgers (Connor Barrata)...not sure if they have others or whose coming in this fall...
FYI guys...Rutgers FOGO commit Connor Barrata (2020) was an animal tonight at the x...won multiple critical FO's including the first in overtime to help Detroit Catholic Central to an overtime win in the Michigan D1 state semi finals...he was really good...

This Saturday will match DCC v Brother Rice for the 6th straight year in the finals...the game will feature 3 Rutgers commits...

Game actually features:

3 Rutgers Commits
3 Detroit Mercy Commits
2 Umass Lowell Commits
2 Michigan Commits
1 Harvard Commit
1 Air Force Commit
1 Utah Commit
1 Canisius Commit
1 Colgate Commit
1 Loyola Maryland Commit - He happens to be my favorite ;)

Anyway...the point of my thread was Barrata looked strong tonight for those that want some info on recruits...

So he won’t be on the field until Spring 2021?

Any chance he gets here early and plays in Spring 2020?

Thanks for the update Golder2019!! It sounds like we are getting a good one!
NP...

Look, I think we all get and understand that playing in high school and playing in the B1G are not the same...at all, so you never know with recruits...;)

I was just sharing some intelligence as to what's going on with the guys I know and watch multiple time a week...how each player translates to the next level...it's a wait and see game...

All good
