Mulcahy looked comfortable out there. But there are two ends of the floor. And you have to shoot sometime.
Every minute that Young is in the game I cringe. Just a ball hog and completely out of control at all times. Drives into trees every time even though he's the smallest guy on our team and forces up awkward floaters. Not a winning player.
I thought he played pretty well tonight. Maybe the rust is coming off.
I know you're upset about the loss but he was not out of control at all times against MSU. Young made some nice moves to get past his defender and get to the basket but missed the layup/shot.Mulcahy looked comfortable out there. But there are two ends of the floor. And you have to shoot sometime.

And last game people said a Paul isn’t ready to play at this level yet.
Game to game
I’m thinking Paul is a better outside shooter than we think. He just isn’t looking for his shot enough right now.
I don't agree with that-----at this point in his career he isn't a shooter.
The fact that he went 3-10 and people are calling this a breakout game just shows how awful he’s been and /or they haven’t seen every minute of every game this year which I have. His shots are not good shots. Geo and Harper may have shot terribly but in general their shots are not terrible shots.I know you're upset about the loss but he was not out of control at all times against MSU. He got to the free throw line tonight better than he has all season and made 6-of-7 which was helpful. He also grabbed 4 rebounds and had 3 assists and a steal. He did have 2 turnovers. If he was just making 32 percent of his perimeter shots like he did last season that would help. He had that bad miss on a three pointer with 3 minutes left. MSU almost let him shoot it because of the scouting report on Young.
I think we’re going to find out that Paul can shoot.....he’s just a pass first guy which is what we need.
or the fact that he was the second leading scorer, T2 on rebounds, and T2 on assists. Is that good or bad?The fact that he went 3-10 and people are calling this a breakout game just shows how awful he’s been and /or they haven’t seen every minute of every game this year which I have. I saw him drive three times. Two were bad misses but he did make a pretty assist by drawing a double team on the third. One thing I noticed is that Paul took better care of the ball when driving into the lane. Better than some of our more veteran guys that got stripped.
Baker is not rising to the occasion, and indeed, has regressed in terms of consistencyMulcahy should start at PG soon... if we are to lose our next two, I bet he does start at PG come Lafayette game, and will start for rest of year.
25 Minutes a game for him As primary ball handler and PG would work wonders for our offense.....Baker would benefit the most and would suddenly become the scorer and shot maker we need
Not a chance he cannot even come close to guarding an opposing point guard.
He does have good court vision but he doesn’t have a good shot and that’s a problem
The rest of the team take confident shots. They just don’t make it in. So what harm can it be if we add him on the court and he misses as much as the rest of his teammates but he also drives to the basket and distributes the ball. This season is looking more and more like a lost one again that needs silver linings to get us excited again for next year. Paul’s development can be the best silver lining for us.As soon as Paul shows a confident shot then he should get starter mins but he can’t be be a one sided offensive player and not be able to guard on defensive sets. Defenses are just going to just lay-off him if he doesn’t shoot. 8-12 footers will be just fine.

Paul not taking shots or taking a bunch and missing a bunch result in neutralizing his effectiveness which is finding the open man. He needs to take some and make some to really open up his game. The rest of the team take confident shots. They just don’t make it in.
