With the sleet coming down and the cultist PSU fans descending on the field like jackals late in the game, my wife and I decided to leave this game early for the first time ever. That is a span of decades.

Unfortunately our players could not do that, and so you fought on in the toughest of situations. IMO there is nothing more noble than continuing to give your best effort in a lost cause, and I am certain you did that last night. The interviews I have seen of you and your coach leave no doubt in my mind.

It takes strong character to handle your situation with class, and you have consistently been able to do that.

It takes considerably less character to handle winning with class, but apparently the PSU players are lacking there, judging from their dancing on the field - a sorry reflection on their coach.

I thank all of you for your efforts on behalf of our University. You have brought us through rock bottom with class. I believe your efforts will bear fruit in the end. I apologize for taking the easy way out last night and not providing my support through the toughest part of the game.

There is a big difference between 18-22 young men playing a game in tough weather and an older couple sitting in the stands who left because of the weather conditions, what on earth do you have to apologize to them for, they should be thanking you for paying money to see them stink up the field game after game, coaches, players, and most of all the administration.

How about the fact that psu fans went into our student section towards the very end in an attempt to take it over. Security threw them out.

There was a random crack of lightning near the end, so staying in the stands until the last second would not have been a wise option.

I especially won't fault the students for leaving, except for members of the ski team who would have the gear. Eventually Rutgers is going to be winning these late season bad weather games and its going to be fun to stay - put some waterproof shell pants on the holiday list people!

I wish Rutgers would buy a container of RU red ponchos, store them at the stadium and sell them for a couple bucks at games.

I saw a picture of Hobbs going over to the students who remained and thanking them for coming.

Curious. Have you ever heard the vitriol coming from Rutgers fans who sit near the Opponent bench? Some of the most disgusting things I've ever heard in my life. I can't blame an opposing team for rubbing it in after an a** kicking. We really need a COMPLETE house cleaning of this program. Players, coaches AND fans. It's all sickening.

Thanks. That is my son out there "stinking up the field". I'm sorry that he hasn't played to your satisfaction. I will let him know that he wasted the fans good money.

I must say I took real offense when Maddox-Williams was laying on the ground in obvious pain and a large portion of their fan base decided it would be a good time to start a penn st. chant. From that point on I let every psu fan around me know just how classless that gesture was.

Cheer a good play fine, but when someone's hurt you remain silent and cheer when they leave the field. Our fans extended that exact courtesy to their hurt player. It's just football etiquette and they have none. My wife knew I was fuming after that one and so did the psu fans around me. We left shortly after that point and I never leave early. Rain, Sleet or Snow.

Agree. I am sick and tired of those who try to make the Rutgers fan base out to be classless. we had some Penn State fans invade our area and they were complete baboons

As were the Penn State players dancing in the 4th quarters. You would think after Sandusky...

People need to take down the phone number for security and get police on site for ANY taunting. Remember those working from the security agency Andy Frain, Inc. don't have the legal power to put hands on people.

Let obnoxious visitors wind up with charges-and have to travel back to NJ 4 1/2 hours for a court date-or our own students during their exams and/or break.

I have said it a 1,000 times, parents need to stay away from fan boards, period. Fans like myself pay good money for the right to enter that stadium and watch your kid play football and in return he receives a free education and benefits to play football. I don't boo them on the field, but damn it if you are going to use that line to silence me and my opinions on a fan board.

Way to double down on being a Jo.

1000 times? I may have said it a couple of times that some idiots shouldn't pay good money to watch college football because they don't understand the commitment players make to Rutgers University. The same idiots should hide behind screen names!

Don't be a drama queen. If you are going to take shots at people be big enough to handle it when they come back at you.

Parents need to stay away so you can have your little message board tantrum? Cmon.

One day we are gonna beat Penn state in an agonizing crushing fashion to their souls and when we do we will remember this

Wow you're and idiot.

At least you are better than those who rip our players during the game. Bulletin board idiots are not as bad as live idiots.

To the Mullers thanks for sending your son to RU in spite of these idiots. We need a Better fanbase first and foremost.

I had very little interaction with PSU fans yesterday-
only three, and every one of them was a douche.
I'm sure there are good people who root for Penn State
but that school seems to have an inordinate # of jackoffs who seek out confrontation.
And all three of mine were before the game.
Add that to the nitwit posters from PSU who visit here,
80% of whom are total asswipes and easy to understand how their school and fanbase rank as the most disgusting in the country.

Dude, stop acting like a douche. Leave that to the psu fans, they've already got that act down pat.

What did people expect after your AD had to apologize for your fan behavior 2 years ago. You can not act like complete douches one year then get pissed later when you don't like how you were treated.

Before you say it wasn't that bad 2 years ago, I heard some of the most vile things I had ever heard at game or before.

I did you fool. I said I had a right on a fan board to say the players stunk up the field last night. I also said I don't boo the kids on the field, but I will comment in the appropriate place, which is a fan board. I can't help it that poster and you are snowflakes and can't handle a fan board. Again, my advice to parents and snowflakes is to stay away from fan boards if you can't handle negative comments.

I left very early in the 3rd QTR. I too always stay to the end of the game but as I get older I must take my health into consideration. We sat next to a family of 5 PSU fans and we left together. As we were walking out they stopped and said we wish your football program success except when you play us. We both laughed and went our separate ways.

The most vile things most human beings in the modern era have ever heard came from the PSU program. Literally, no sh1t talking or anything. My skin not only crawled, it tried to drag me to a better, kinder world where things like that don't happen.

Now stfu, live with that and expect to be called out forever and always.

So because what happened at PSU means opposing fans can say what ever they want when ever they want but are going to cry when PSU fans talk shit, okay. After what I saw and heard 2 years ago your fans have nothing to cry about.

I am not either a PSU alum or fan

How can you be so mad? Rutgers is the worst football team ever! You should just accept that and stop caring! Greg Schiano is not walking through that door LOL!!!

Not mad at all. I don't play on the team. My other favorite team is the most decorated in American sports history. Have seen plenty of championships.

Now ... how does that change your disgusting history and the fact that your "university" is one big chalk-lined rape scene?

LOL, Lulz, llo!!

By that last sentence, guessing you're not an alum of anywhere, college or HS. Just a frontrunner, apparently.

Great two psu fans wishing each other well. And your point behind this post was what exactly?

Why would anyone expect class from a fan base that celebrates a pedophile enabler and years of abuse on their campus? No amount of winning football games will get rid of that stain. And their team ain't that good anyway.

Their fan base and team are a perfect representative of the simpleton culture curated there. It's surprising to no one. Just be glad you aren't part of it.

I had a lot of PSU fans around me in section 120 that reminded me of the game at the Meadowlands where Joe and Graber had an argument at the handshake. Very obnoxious and arrogant. Their winning season has brought out that sort of mindset I guess

Out at the tailgates was a different story, had a lot of fun conversing with some good PSU fans.
